York 1.50

Placespotter (Ian) York 1.50 The Jorvik Handicap over 12 Furlongs kicks off the Meeting here and with the Ground riding Good to Firm there are no excuses for any horse in terms of going. Some of the big Yards flex their muscles here and I think there is plenty of pace on in the race and therefore best to be drawn in single figures in the 18 strong field. The John Gosden trained FIRST ELEVEN has been well back, not surprising with Dettori up and it steps back a little in Class and looks decent value despite being backed.

Of the remainder one with some proven Course form, a nice solid and consistent profile, and with the benefit of a recent run is PROSCHEMA from the Tom Dascombe yard with tattoo man Kingscote riding, this one is probably better over a bit further than this but drawn in stall 8 could get some nice cover and the harder they go the better and I think provided it gets a run and can find some spaces could stay on in to a place at least as many may need a blow in the final 2 furlongs on seasonal debut.
