Thursday 3rd May

Here is the Mentions Logic-:

One good question I had was "who does the mentions" - simple rationale IF a mention comes in a race covered by a tip;
the "mention" and logic comes from the Tipster who has done the tip, as part of the full analysis of the race. IF the "mention"
is in a "stand alone" race - (e.g no tip in it) the Mention comes from me (Ian) as I have tapered back Placespotter for a rest;
have given over Elite to Michael Gould recently, but like to "keep my eyes open" and have a dabble with some fairly detailed

analysis, and it certainly worked with the 28/1 winner on Tuesday. A case I think of "keeping my eye in whilst resting a bit".

The Mentions for today-:

Redcar 4.40; a 3 mile Handicap over 10 furlongs, my/our first dabble in to 3 year old only races so far this season and my
"way in" in purely on "the trip" and looking at form at it so far and specifically "pedigrees".  The strong and worthy favourite
is CRYSTAL SPIRIT and hard to see that being beat IF you want a win saver at short odds; Firby is solid but no value. A few
of these are NATAHANIEL bred and that should be perfect for 10-12 furlong form and as a race horse and sire that horse had
the misfortune to be around at the same kind of time as Frankel!. The one who caught my eye at a nice each way price
with SKY 1-4 on the race is GLOBAL STYLE**. Ed Dunlop trains and significant he comes a fair way for the run. It is
out of Nathaniel and the Grand Mare is Danehill, so plenty of stamina there and it ran "choke out" over 13 Furlongs on
AW last time out but stayed on to and past this trip. They will hope to settle it better today but clearly has an engine and the
drop in trip looks very sensible. One other thing to not that could be significant. It was ridden lto by Gerard Mosse; his only
ride that day, now it could be he was "around the yard for the day" but not sure he would hang around for one runner at

Chelmsford, if it had not shown something!

(** in some e-mails in the write up CRISTAL SPIRIT was incorrectly written as the "mention" to be clear it should be GLOBAL STYLE)

The other Mentions are OUR PLACE IN LOUIE in the 5.40 at Musselburgh - Sky Bet to 4th place; has good Course and
Distance form, runs well usually first time up; nice mark and has had a wind op. In the 8.10 it is hard not to like the win
of HARBOUR PATROL at Thirsk on Monday; it has a penalty for that; so you would logically think, that if they come back
out so soon, with a penalty, that the horse is telling them it is "bob on" to go in again, as if not, why not rest for next
week or so, as nothing gained "penalty wise" by coming out so soon - if it runs, indicates horse is ready to roll!
