I like to hedge the draw here and will have one drawn high and one drawn low as looking back at the race the flanks can dominate and it's just a case of where the pace is.
A Sure Welcome drawn in Stall 1 has improved for the past few seasons but these are uncharted territories in terms of better class of opposition than most of those wins. Drawn next to it is LIGHTNING CHARLIE who has slipped to a very nice mark, has some good Course form, conditions look ideal and might just be ready to zip back to form in the Autumn as has happened before.
Big Lachie and Miracle of Medinah have bits of Course form that make them of interest and good runs would be no surprise but the one drawn high that I most fancy is EQUATION drawn next to the rail in Stall 17. The horse rarely runs a bad race, solid form and looks the nearest to an each way banker in this tricky race.
