Haydock 3.10 Swinton Hurdle
A 2 mile "burn up" on Good ground that looks sure to be run at a frenetic pace.
I would be very keen on JOHN CONSTABLE who won this easily in 2017 and is 24lbs below last years mark, but poor run last year led to a deterioration of form and a recent wind operation would need to have an immediate benefit. As a "flat bred" horse I just wonder if he has reached a natural point where form regresses?. LEONCAVALLO should race prominently and place at least and is on a nice mark, will benefit from the drop back to the minimum trip here and looks an ideal reserve and Tricast Perm suggestion - would not put anyone off a bit of e/w change either. I think JENKINS could outrun his odds here another who could benefit back at 2 mile trip.
In an extremely open race though I will go with a couple at nice Odds in ARTHINGTON and DINO VELVET. The former was runner up in a strongly run race over Course and Distance last time, he did not get a clear run in the final furlong and although this is a step up again and he carries a mark 4lbs higher, I think the race could suit his style of running at nice Odds and clearly comfortable with the fences and Course. Dino Velvet was highly tried last time out but progressive prior to that and could have caught something a bit special at Ayr, I think if he runs to previous form he will be bang in contention here.
