Hexham 4.40

HEXHAM 4.40 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 7 furlongs - Good 14 run

This is low grade stuff and having analysed every horse I would say that at least half of them have no discernable form at all, so you'd think that the market would be about right.

There are a couple though whose back form indicates that if they are "on a going day" that their odds are frankly ridiculous.

I can't really fancy anything at the top of the market with confidence at the short Odds up there, Ever So Much is the obvious winner on form, Kymata who is 5/2 was a runner up at 50/1 last time out and that was completely out of the blue. King Golan needs to show more but clearly can deliver on occasions and Robsam may improve on this Going.

With Thats My Dubai a non runner the one nearest the top of the market who I like best is SHALYZAR who had a decent run at Cartmel, but form there rarely travels well elsewhere so I will watch and hope that I don't regret not investing in him today.

My pair at decent odds against the field for 1/2 point bets are DAVID JOHN and SHORT FLIGHT.

Short Flight has won off similar marks in the past. Probably needed last 2 runs but has been lacklustre, so they enlist first time blinkers. That could revive the horse and i so is plenty talented enough off this mark in the context of the race to find some form today. DAVID JOHN has won in the past off marks over 100, indeed 105 to 110 range was one his stamping ground. He will welcome this return to better going and is way over-priced when you look at what he has achieved in the not too distant past and is hardly a "veteran".
