Always a deep and competitive race almost at the end of the week and a frenetic pace usually over 2 miles and a few yards with a field this time of 20.

Can be a race that throws up a real dark horse and at a big price but I'm darned if I can find one here in what looks a fairly poor renewal of the race.

Gino Trail will be of interest as now with Fergal O'Brien and one of the better British hopes. Greanateen is an obvious market leader but I'm mot sure it can dominate this field from the front and at the short price I really want to be taking it on bit with a small win saver bet in my pocket for insurance.

Croco Bay has an excellent record in this race but is 13 now, will get cheered to the rafters if placing or winning and hopefully comes home safe and has a good run.

My selections are CHOSEN MATE who could cap a great week for Gordon Elliott, as could stable mate ECLAIR DE BEAUFEU, not very original I know but the market and form speaks!

Tracker bet is PALOMA BLUE whose collateral form with EDB gives it a sporting chance of splitting the Elliott horses at a decent each way price.
