Musselburgh 2.30

Musselburgh 2.30 - Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles - Soft - 11 run

A very tight and competitive race and strong solid market leaders at first glance in Brotherly Company and Eagle Ridge.

Brotherly Company won a Novice chase, could have scope but having progressed from a win mark of 90 to 104, I wonder if this is a ceiling now and at the price I want to find something to beat it. Eagle Ridge has won twice here, for the in form Alexander yard, Brian Hughes is a "win machine" up North but another who may just be at the mercy of the handicapper I think and vulnerable at the Odds.

ACDC is worth a look at big odds but seems very regressive, BUCKLED is a big danger off 94 as a Course and Distance winner, gets a nice pull off Eagle Ridge but basically hold up style not suited here and needs to run more prominently. IF he is and you note in running worth a small in-running interest but can't tip on balance of his style of running. Danboru looks overburdened with weight and may be better at intermediate shorter trip. Exit To Where runs prominently, likely to take them a long way in to this race and could set it up for something well handicapped or ready to win.

OSCAR CEREMONY comes from the in form Ellison yard, Course and Distance winner off 100, won again elsewhere off 105, needed seasonal debut but handicapped to go very close off 107 with a decent 3lbs Claimer up. SHANROE STREET for the always dangerous Lucinda Russell yard was runner up last time, likes to get on with it and with conditions to suit and scope off the mark looks sporting each way chance.
