Newbury 3.15

Newbury 3.15 I like a nice Straight mile race on the Flat despite being more on a Jumps man as over the straight mile they have chance to sort themselves out and more more tactically than at Sprint Distances. They tend to run in an arrow formation here and the only thing that put me off my 2 main form picks was high draws but I think both could play the tactical game and rather than force the pace, work their way off the stands wing and more in to the middle with some cover.

If the tactics work it is hard to look past RIPP ORF who is the Class of the race and who has the benefit of a run in the Lincoln. Next to it is a very under-estimated horse in my opinion in CHIEFOFCHIEFS and the booking of Doyle looks highly significant to me but mot yet picked up fully by the markets. I have to have a "saver" in the middle though and can't ignore ANOTHER BATT it may be top weight and rarely runs a mile, but both runs at the trip have seen it running on. It was hampered  early in the Lincoln and made up a lot of ground finishing fast, if it can get cover here in the middle of the pack has the tactical speed to strike late. Will be a hostage to fortune and need luck in running but I think ignored by the market and can out run odds. I am going to break convention for one day and have a 1 point each way on RIPP ORF and 1/2 point each way on the other 2 selections; if you want to stick by the rules ANOTHER BATT would be marginally preferred to CHIEFOFCHIEFS (whopping Tricast Perm if that came off).
