Sunday 5th July

On to today and tips and Analysis in 2 big field races at Haydock and Doncaster from ROBIN-;

HAYDOCK 1.30 - Class 4 - 1 mile and 6 furlongs - Going Soft (sunny and dry after early rain)

I'd been interested in Gabriel The One but that one is a non-runner. Seinesational has proven stamina and is a Distance winner but most of it's best form is on better Going than this and although a big danger I will watch this one today. Theatro should be the one to beat at the trip and with a fitness advantage, I think Bombero will appreciate the Going too, but at the price I prefer two options at longer priced each way value.

JACKAMUNDO likes it soft, will have been sharpened up by an AW run, could have had a number of other opportunities, so this race looks like a bit of a target with the right Going. It is fine at the trip and actually drops to Class 4 again and should be very competitive off its Handicap mark.

SASSIE also likes some cut, is fine at the trip and a bit further, drawn 17 so likely to be slotted in and with cover until they come round the final turn and long straight which should play to stamina traits. A nice handicap mark and another that looks good value.

TIPS - Jackamundo + Sassie

DONCASTER 4.30 - Class 5 - 1 mile - 19 declared Good to Soft (dry sunny day)

The value looks to be near the top of the market with very little of interest at big prices. Of those Star of Valour has glimmers of form but not convinced enough.

Turntable needed seasonal return but not really any form in big fields and cavalry charge like this, Zephyrina could be anything but price is not really attractive enough, Beverley Bullet and Ghadbbaan are similarly a bit too short price wise for me in a race of this type.

Bollihope is one I spent a fair while deliberating over and came closest to a financial interest (so may be worth a bit of your shrapnel if you want to go 2 handed) but it's a long times since it showed any real turf form.

The standout with a bit of market value for me is MOUNTAIN RESCUE who could be very well handicapped off a mark of 69 having won at this trip at Newmarket last June off a mark of 77. Looks to be one fit and ready to run a big race and no excuses drawn in Stall 5 as that's usually the favoured side of the straight mile Course.

TIP - Mountain Rescue.
