Uttoxeter 2.53 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles - 17 run - soft.
Lets start again with the obvious one, and as we see regularly, often not the one to pile in on, although this one does look like it's "thrown in".
EASY BUCKS won well last time, is well in despite a penalty and the Yard seems to have finally found some form. I'm not one of those who follow returning to form Trainers blindly, it's sheep off a cliff mentality, the Bowen yard have had a dire 12-18 months, the ability of the 2 sons I think tends to over-emphasise the ability of the Trainer. He can train a horse for sure, but has always been "streaky" so whilst it's worth keeping a close eye on some of his bigger priced horses not one to follow blindly at too short a price. IF you want a small win saver on this one to cover 2 bets below, then feel free to do so.
North Star oscar could improve but the profile suggests this is a summer jumper who may not appreciate "winter soft" conditions. It's possible they may just eek out a win or place here before putting him away for the winter, but I'm not convinced enough to put money on it. Crossley Tender is a 3 mile P2P winner, has a form profile of needing one run and then running very well, that suggests he may just need this but definitely one to watch out for on next run and I think one to follow in any event.
It may be just the right time to have a bet on ANYWAYOULOOKATIT, back over Fences, rock hard fit compared to most of these, they would probably prefer "Good" in the Going description, but no rain about, a drying sort of day and with enhanced place Odds it really should be placing at worst.
Stable mate ONURBIKE won this race last season in a smaller field. It has OK form fresh and two disappointing runs after that on heavy Going, can be excused I think. It may well be an Autumn type horse, it won off 84, runs off 86 here and the price really draws me in as a bit of each way value.
