Uttoxeter 5.50

ROBIN - Uttoxeter 5.50 Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 2 miles 6 and 1/2 furlongs - 14 run

A whole host making Chase debut or Handicap Chase debut or switching back from Hurdles with some P2P form.

Mozzaro is the one to beat if fit but I'm happy to take it on here as it may just need the run. That Ole Chestnut and Thais Toir are being backed but neither excite me at the price. Fraterculus should be competitive and has some moderately solid form. Captain Grinnaway has been bought along slowly and makes Chase debut and if taking to bigger Fences is one to track forwards and may pick up a small race this summer.

I've been waiting for a couple of these to go over fences or be upped in trip for quite a while.

TIME LEADER for the inform Lacy yard has been crying out to go back up in trip and has some very good 3 mile P2P form. Stan Shepherd rides rather than for his dads horse who is favourite and although I don't know his contractual arrangements that may be a tip in itself.

At bigger odds is TIGERS ROAR for Twiston-Davies, another with 3 mile P2P form who I've had in my Tracker for months just waiting for chase debut.

Of the others, Writteninthesand is the biggest danger i think, it won at Market Rasen after a wind op but has recently declined, its inching down to a nice mark again though and if a tongue tie and cheekpieces work it could roar back to form.

I'll have some shrapnel though on MACKIE DEE runner up in this last year off 95, another with 3 mile P2P form, more exposed than most but if some don't take to fences and the trip, it's got the proven form at this tricky track and off a mark of 86 with a 5lbs Claimer looks dangerously well handicapped.

TIP - Time Leader / Tracker - Tigers Roar / shrapnel - Mackie Dee
