York 3.45

York 3.45 - Class 2 - 2 Miles ad 56 yards - Good - could be considerably softer

A marathon trip and one where it pays to have a prominent position.

I want  something proven at the trip and with the forecast, one that's proven in Good to Soft or softer.

I looked closely at all 17 runners and narrowly discarded 3 and will have a full tip and a pair of trackers.

True Destiny is a Course and Distance winner who may just be in the grip of the handicapper now, Just Hubert is a Distance winner, up 4 lbs and one who might want the likely substantial rain and Solo Saxaphone a rapid improver, very impressive CD winner who may find this a little bit hot.

My tip is SUMMER MOON a Course winner for Mark Johnson with Joe Fanning up, trip no problem and has form in soft and heavy. Not hard to believe it'll be at or near the front and make it a true test.

For the Trackers, I like the Dascombe/Kingscote horse, RAJINSKY has won on heavy Going, trip no problem and no stronger jockey in an attritional race than Mister Kingscote. I also like the chances of BLUE LAUREATE at big odds, trainer can often find one for this type of race. Nothing flash about the form but one that can plod through the closing stages, keep Going and has all the necessary proven stamina in the conditions to look overpriced. Conditions could just come right for this one.

TIP - SUMMER MOON - 1 point each way +  Trackers - Blue Laureate + Rajinsky - both 1/2 point each way
