Ascot 4.15

Ascot 4.15

A very competitive Class 2 Handicap over 7 Furlongs with 17 declared.

Indications yesterday that a low draw and far side of the Course may be the quickest route home, not compelling evidence but something to note.

I narrowed the field of 17 down to a final 4 horses and suggest the following staking and betting plan.

It's easy to see why BLUE MIST is favourite here and with its Course and Distance form a  6lbs hike looks positively surmountable. The price around 9/2 means it really is an each way punt to nothing as a saver bet.

I am then left with VIA SERENDIPITY whose recent run was encouraging for new connections and who also has plenty of Course and Distance form to indicate a bold bid is highly likely. The same applies to DOCUMENTING who was a nice winner at York last time, again a horse up 6lbs as a result, but still well below highest AW mark and Ascot is a Track where time and time again AW form does translate to Turf.

Finally, at bigger Odds and one who will need to return to form is ACCIDENTAL AGENT. The Yard had a winner and placed horse in the big Sprint race yesterday and a nice draw and the removal of a number of aids, which may have confused the horse gives it a fighting chance of a sharp return to form

TIPS - Blue Mist and Via Serendipity - both 1 point each way / TRACKERS - Documenting and Accidental Agent - both 1/2 point each way.
