Ayr 1.10

Ayr 1.10 Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 4 1/2 furlongs - Heavy - 9 run

I think the top of the market here are worth taking on in most likely very attritional conditions and provided Meeting stays on with a lot more rain forecast, I'd be quietly confident of an upset.

Unohu is 6/4 with most bookies, a facile winner over 2 miles in Heavy last time, comes from an NHFlat background and likely to be pushed harder and deeper into this race than it has been before. It may romp home but at such punitive odds I'm willing to take a chance.

Rio Quito as second favourite has been off for 603 days, Olly Murphy can get one ready but whether they'd want to bottom the horse out is another matter entirely. Kalaharry is one to definitely note and but for a 273 lay off would probably have been a selection in ideal conditions. However, has tended to need its first run but clearly one to TRACK on after today.

RIVER FROST has won over Course and at the Distance and runs for Ben Haslam. CD win was on Heavy off a mark of 120, gets this trip and a bit further and off a mark of 123, fully tuned up can outrun what I think are generous Odds.

Provided 8 or more go to Post, the longest priced one BLALCO is no forlorn hope for a place at least. Has had 2 runs to get fit on unsuitable Going. Has won at 2 miles 6 furlongs so assured stamina ok on heavy and won on soft, win mark is 125, runs for Lucinda Russell off a mark of 122 with cheekpieces to sharpen it up.

TIP - River Frost / Tracker - Blalco
