Chepstow 1.15

THE ADVISOR - Chepstow 1.15 - Handicap - Class 5 - 1 mile 14 yards - Good to Firm - 14 run

This is a straight mile where they go downhill initially and then up and down what we call "the big dipper", significant undulations that are far steeper than the TV pictures suggest, before leveling off to the line , where they go downhill again just at the Post.

It does suit Course specialists here and you're never quite sure how a horse will act on the Track here until it's tried.

At the top end of the market, I think Maysong may need some cut in the ground to be at its best and it is on Course debut. Dundory is a Course and Distance winner, impressive here last week and is upped 8lbs but clearly the one to beat, if you want a win saver, take the option.

SIR PLATO ticks every box, a Course and Distance winner and a runner up last time off a mark of 62. Its Course and Distance win was off a mark of 66, it;s won at 7 furlongs off a mark of 70 here, Hollie Doyle rides and I can't find any reason not to think it'll go very close at worst!

Granary Queen is in form but off a tough mark and I think better over shorter, My Brother Mike makes its Course debut at 8, it's well handicapped though and has assured stamina and if liking the track and off a fast pace could nick a place. The Hannon horse is the least exposed and given the form of the Yard a big danger. its upped in trip but has a 7-8 furlong pedigree so very interesting and I may kick myself after the event it's that type of horse.

Llandra won at 25/1 at Bath last week, gets in off just a pound more here at a nice price but doesn't strike me as one to run up a sequence and this is a very different Track. I also think the Girl From Ipponema is better than recent form has suggested and could fire at some point as there is a bit of ability there if you go back far enough.

KENSTONE is like SIR PLATO one that ticks every box for me. A Course and Distance winner on its winning mark who looks to be running in to form with a draw that gives it scope down the middle to go either Stand or Far side if there is any draw bias.

At big odds I'm mystified by LUXY LOU. It was 11/4 here last time before running poorly but it had a very valid excuse having bled from the nose. Grace Harris is a Trainer we follow here (and elsewhere) and at the odds I'm happy to have a shrapnel bet and to take its good health on trust.

TIP - SIR PLATO / Tracker - Kenstone / Shrapnel - Luxy Lou
