Epsom 3.00

Epsom 3.00 Investec Handicap - Class 2 - 10 Furlongs

A reformed market after the Haggas trained favourite was declared a non runner early this morning and I can't get over enthused about Ironclad or Caradoc on seasonal debut on this quirky Course. They are clearly highly regarded, could dominate the race but I don't think either represents real value. Johnny Drama is well supported, understandable on form and given connections, again I think that the value had gone in respect of perceived value elsewhere.

My tip is TINDALI an ex Dermot Weld horse now with David O'Meara who on Irish form is ideally suited by the trip and conditions, could be very nicely handicapped and the benefit of a run should be an asset too. I think they will have decent expectations of this horse in the next few seasons in the bigger and better 10-12 Furlong handicaps and may be even in to Group Company and I expect a big run here.

A big danger could be Course specialist Data Protection , a Course winner and has won at 9 furlongs on the Rowley mile with its stiff late climb but it has a preference for Good and Good to Firm Going and this handicap mark does the horse no favours.

For a Tracker bet I will therefore look at MR SCARAMANGA who has Course and Distance form also, has had a run, should be fit and ready and likely aimed at this and I'm after some each way enhanced place money. I will also have a nibble on Roger Fell's horse SUCELLUS; we have had a few tips from that Yard and so far picked the right ones and ignored the losers, and this is an ex John Gosden horse with a similar profile to the tip and again the benefit of a run and plenty of scope, makes it an appealing each way price to enhanced places.

TIP - Tindali - 1 point each way  / Trackers - Sucellus + Mr Scaramanga both 1/2 point each way
