Epsom 3.45

THE ADVISOR - Epsom Dash 3.45 - Class 2 - Handicap - 5 furlongs - Good > Good to Soft

A 20 runner Sprint down what is called the fastest 5 furlong Course in the world. The notion is a high draw is a big advantage but there can be all kinds of scrimmaging on the Stands Rail and also if it does rain, it can bring middle numbers in to the action more and i do think there is going to be a race pacesetter in Master Matt drawn in Stall 14, who could tow some of those drawn 8-14 along with it.

At very big odds A SURE WELCOME for a favourite Trainer of this service does have more form in softer going than many of these, a highish draw and could surprise a few! LIPSINK is another who would be hoping for plenty of rain, drawn in Stall 5 for Robert Cowell and Hollie D and if they report buckets of rain on the morning line I'll be throwing a quid each way on both of those.

Tone The Barone is well handicapped on some AW form,Master Matt as I've indicated is a real speedster out of the Stalls, tends to get tagged after about 4 furlongs but could set this up for a finisher, Equality drawn in 4 can be a very slow starter, but if your going to start slow here being low is less of a disadvantage and this one could finish with a wet sail. Live The Moment seems out of form but one I regard as a big danger on some previous form. KIng Of Stars gets the prime pitch in Stall 20 but it would be some feat to get the horse primed for this in current form.

Dusky Lord is the least exposed and possibly the one with most scope in the race but a low draw and no evidence of form if it does rain just puts me off and at the prices I can leave Fine Wine, who may just be on too high a mark now, Live In The Dream is only a 3 year old and it would be extraordinary if he won on nown trends, and Stone Of Destiny, although talented is also a quirky type and the price offers little value for me.

My 3 against the field have good credentials in this type of race, form with cut and may be well drawn more in the middle. MOKAATIL drawn in 9 won this last year at 25/1, we tipped it on seasonal reappearance when winning again here well backed at 6/1 and it has an obvious chance with a 5lbs Claim negating a mark 5lbs higher than in 2021. SUNDAY SOVEREIGN also gets a 5lb penalty for a nice win last time but is still below its highest winning mark, it looks to be peaking at the right time, won't mind a bit of cut and drawn 11 has some genuine pace to sit off. Finally another Course specialist in BLUE DE VEGA who is drawn in 12, plenty of form here and in soft conditions and looks a nice each way price.
