Newbury 3.25

Newbury 3.25 Class 5 - 1 mile 4 furlongs - 17 run - Good to Soft.

POTENZA is a winner without a penalty after a nice win at Chester last week. At around 7/2 it is "win value" if it drifts would not be a bad each way banker to 4 or 5 places, I can't leave it out of deliberations on any form logic.

There are a few nice and possibly progressive light raced slow developing 4 year olds in here and SPRING GLOW certainly fits that bill for Andrew Balding and I think could become a nice stock horse for the Yard and definitely a smaller yard over the next few seasons and I think it will improve again today. I narrowly favour it over Party Island who has a nice AW win at this trip but just a niggle it may be a 100 yards too far on turf and could get caught close home. If any selection is a non-runner PARTY ISLAND @ 9/1 would be a solid back up option.

The biggest danger to POTENZA I feel is another with some scope and that's BYRON HILL, an eye catching run in a small field last time as runner up, is lightly raced but spoken of as a possible improver this year by the Yard.

POTENZA (Tip - win or each way is your shout) / TRACKERS - Byron Hill and SPRING GLOW. (reserve Party Island @ 9/1)
