PONTEFRACT - 12.45 Class 5 - 1 mile 2 furlongs (13 run) Going - Good

 

Two weeks ago we tipped MICHELE STROGOFF who ran an enhanced place 4th in a race at Beverley. In that race we flagged up AIYA who ran a disappointing race for Tim Easterby. AIYA runs here and is very short in the market compared with Michele Strogoff, no doubt due to booking of Silvestre De Souza. I'd again take MICHELE STROGOFF to run a solid race and will have a Tracker 1/2 point bet on it.

 

SIRDONA seems to be the one they all have to beat and at the price if you want a win saver, feel free to do so. Both Barashnikov and Little India showed improved form last time and either could deliver a win today, although the form of the Karl Burke Yard 0-46 puts me off Little India particularly.

 

However, amongst those at bigger prices the Tim Easterby second string (in terms of the market) REGAL MIRAGE looks very appealing and over-priced. It runs off a mark of 72, has has an earlier run and is a Course winner and off a winning mark (indeed below last win mark). It is back in a C5 contest, won off 70 and 74 last season and I think is equally if not more likely to deliver than it's stable mate at much better each way Odds.
