Catterick 3.10 Handicap - Class 6 - 1 mile 4 furlongs - 12 run - Good to Firm

The favourite is a long-standing maiden which indicates the quality of the race overall.

Every horse can have it's day though and a few in here caught my eye.

The veterans Flower Power (aged 10) and Mistamel (aged 9 and last won in 2015) both run off competitive marks and have shown enough in glimpses to indicate they can be competitive with recent placed runs.

The one who looks like a youngster by comparison who ticks all the right boxes for me though is AMOURIE who is a Course and Distance winner, a nice draw and no excuses off this mark on this ground and it will be very disappointing if not right in contention.

Goodwood 1.50 - Handicap - Class 5 - 1 mile 3 furlongs - 12 run - Good to Firm

The standout here for me is BROAD APPEAL who last won on Good to Firm and gets the ground for the first time in a while, off a mark of 69 and drawn nice and low in Stall 3. Another one who gets all the boxes ticked and optimum conditions and with luck in running really has no excuses.
