Ascot 2.30 17 SHADES OF BLUE - 1 point each way - with proven Course and Distance form I have had a point each way at 5/1 as an each way banker against the American "hot pot". There are many bookies going "odds to 4th" and with a nice debut win here and the form franked since, hard to see it not placed at least on a day where precious little to exc...Read More
At Thirsk in the 2.45 I felt that both SIENNA SAYS and KIBAAR from strong Northern Yards were well handicapped and will be suited by conditions in a race where early speed may be a vital commodity. The form of both Yards and their ability to churn out winners made the double figure odds look a little over-generous, although Laughton will be the one...Read More
ASCOT 2.30 5 Rhododendrun - 1 point win / 5 Deauville - 1 point each way / 8 Lord Glitters - 1/2 point each way (WH / LADS / CORAL/ BV / PP to 4th place)The opening race is over the straight mile track and only time will tell if there is any significant draw bias. RHODODENDRUN broke our hearts a bit when pipping our main tip LIGHTNING SPEAR on the ...Read More
The Armed Man knows how to win, likes the Course and conditions and runs off a nice mark. The 6/1 is very strong each way value and I think it is the one to beat in this race. (message from TP was taken in a phone call as he is having some Internet issues this morning, his full explanation will be posted in The Members Paddock later on when i...Read More
Whilst this is a low grade 5 Furlong Handicap the veteran WINDFORPOWER stands out as being both very well handicapped and potentially well drawn. It has decent early pace and in these conditions it won't be easy to come from the back and the horse is possibly still a shade above Class 6, despite advancing years. The price looks far too high for me,...Read More
Good Morning.A good start to Royal Ascot yesterday.Lord Glitters ran a stormer for Elite Service in the opener finishing runner up at 22/1. The two Irish horses disappointed, can't say they went "too fast" as the first 2-3 furlongs did not look visually fast, may be they needed it to have been more steady fractions. Interesting that Accidental Agen...Read More

Good MorningThere are some decent Class 2 races today; that's the good news, the bad news is that they are all at the biggest dump on the Racing Circuit (Chelmsford) quite why the naffest of the naff AW tracks should get these races over long established and cracking Turf venues is beyond my comprehension, may be I am the dinosaur in the room and t...Read More
