Saturday 16th March

A frankly disappointing end to the Cheltenham Festival yesterday despite a winner in the last race. We'll cover off "all things Cheltenham" on Tuesday, the good bit, the bad bits, the very bad bits, the frustrating bits and how we may optimise Ante Post in the future.

The Midlands National is always the highlight of the "day after Cheltenham" - this year the meeting is on desperately heavy ground and actually the handicap hurdle that precedes it, may be a more interesting race. It's highly likely that there may only be 3-4 finishers in those races in the conditions.

There is a decent Card at Kempton and a tip race from there, Newcastle race on very heavy Going as does Thurles who are inspecting as I write. AW Cards also.

After a massive workload this week as you'll imagine there is a degree of brain fog so ABOVE are the Tips - all carefully analysed by the Tipsters; (but with a fair degree of writer's cramp and repetitive strain injury and a tired keyboard that's pleading not to be pounded), no detailed analysis today as turning the Tipsters notes in to something coherent and mildly entertaining is a step too far. I think the obvious analysis on all the selections today is that they have proven form in the Going, proven ability at the trip and are considered well enough handicapped and fresh enough to do themselves justice and either laid out for the race in some cases or very well handicapped and ready to return to form in the remainder.

We'll have a look at Down Royal and Chepstow tomorrow at around 10am with Jon back in the saddle for the week and we're back to the normal routine ( with Trackers back on) on Monday.
