Kempton 7.00 Handicap - Class 5 - 1 mile - 13 run - Standard to Slow

At the top end of the market we have the likes of Profitman and Monopolise, who have been running well enough but at around 4/1 neither are great "win" or really e/w value. Drumstick and Saturnalia are dangers but don't over enthuse me. Marco Botti runs a couple of whom Beauty Generation has been very unlucky the last twice but is a bit of a hostage to fortune with slow starts, drawn 5 here it could once again be waiting for gaps whilst something else sets sail off the front. He's my 3rd rated and should click at some point. The other Botti runner is Timetobenice and he could outrun decent odds having won off a mark of 74 on handicap debut over Course and Distance last December (2023) and first run here since. Those pair are real dangers to the speculative selections.

BERNADINE was a Course and Distance winner here when with James Fanshawe. Now with Dr Richard Newland and off a mark of 67 with a 7lbs claimer booked, and having had a few runs to settle into new surroundings, I will be very disappointed if he's not placed at least back here at the right trip off this mark.

NIGHT ARC is another horse who has decent Course and Distance form with a leading Trainer who has now moved Yards. NIGHT ARC was with Richard hannon, has been running at an inadequate 7 furlongs and getting badly outpaced recent, back here and 12 pounds lower (off a mark of 61 with a 3lbs claim) than the mark of 70 it ran off on that last run for Hannon, is I think a speculative each way poke worth taking.  (AW)

In the opening Novice Hurdle at TAUNTON 12.45 with Nicholls running a couple and some other big Yards having runners, the early 8/1 or better for the Skelton trained KYKROCK a winning P2P horse at this sort of trip, looks the best e/w bet on the Card (Robin)
