Newbury 3.35 Handicap Hurdle - Class 2 - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - Good - 13 run HILL SIXTEEN created a real impression last time on debut for Nigel Twiston-Davies, the market thinks it's thrown in here, it you want a win saver at 7/4, grab it. I'd simply point out that the win was over fences, over much shorter, and that all the horses best runs ...Read More
PLACESPOTTER - Ian - Newbury 2.25 - Handicap Chase - Class 2 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - (11 run) - Good A decent Class2 Chase and not hard to see where the likely winner is to come from with OLDORANGEWOOD, CEPAGE and SULLY DOC AA dominating the market. OLDORANGEWOOD has an excellent record in this race, winning in 2017 off a mark of...Read More
Hereford 3.20 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles 1 1/2 furlongs - Good to Soft - 11 run Another competitive little race where a number have good chances. At the top end of the market Cuban Pete for Venetia stands out. A winner last time out, tends to run well fresh but although a huge danger the trip here is a niggle for me and if somethi...Read More
Wetherby 11.45 Conditional Jockey Handicap Hurdle - Class 4 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - 13 run - Going Good A competitive heat and a few at the top of the market who could be termed "progressive" and with untapped potential. Devour ran strongly here last time to win and gets a penalty, the style of the run and win suggests it needed the 2 mile...Read More
SEAN - Punchestown 1.30 - Handicap Chase - 3 miles 1 1/2 Furlongs - Going Heavy. I can leave 2 of the favourites alone here. Wake Up Early is an inconsistent jumper prone to errors and I'd want more than the odds that it would jump round clean, let alone win and I'll take a win if it happens on the chin. I'll Be That Lady will be a danger if t...Read More
A Day off yesterday and not overly bothered therefore about the "low sun" at Taunton which devalued most of the later races in to NHFlat gallops. Two good Fixtures to focus on today at Doncaster and Newbury, which traditionally throw up some nice horses to follow. With both Fixtures being staged on unseasonably "Good Going" it does look like the...Read More
A very disappointing day in Ireland yesterday. Hurricane Darwin at 20/1 was going well enough in third when unseating in the Banks race, doubt it would have troubled the leading two but a nice place chance probably went begging. Major Destination was very well backed but flattered to deceive. Carrignagapple was confidently expected to run well...Read More
A bit of an unlucky day for us yesterday at Ludlow. JIMMI CHEW advised at 16/1 went off around 11/1, ran prominently and the fact it clobbered 4 out may just have done for it in a head bobber at the line following a dour battle with Volcano (who we identified as the best win saver option). An excellent bit of analysis and form reading th...Read More
A decent return at Exeter yesterday with Cobolobo a runner up at 18/1, advised 25/1 and may have got up in another 20 yards but found an improving horse in Crossley Tender. A further bit of place money with Broadclyst and a race where the analysis was almost spot on. We then had ASHTOWN LAD win at short Odds (for us) but a 2 point win and the ...Read More
It's always nice to report a healthy Saturday net profit. David found Third Wind a runner up at 6/1, and an enhanced and very nice 20/1 5th place in West To The Bridge in a race with the winner winning its 9th successive race, unheard of in modern times and a throwback to the great Handicap Training performances of the past, for a genuinely re...Read More
