Newton Abbot 3.40 Class 4 - Handicap Hurdle - 2 miles 5 1/2 Furlongs - 13 run - Going Good I can find enough doubt with the 3 market leaders at rather short prices to want to look elsewhere. It may be that any of High Wells; Galileo Silver and College Oak are well ahead of the handicapper, but I'm far from convinced that they a...Read More
Hamilton 2.30 - Class 5 - Handicap - 1 mile 68 yards - 13 run - Going Good (Showers) A competitive Class 5 handicap and a couple caught my eye as some e/w value aiming for a net profit form the Race. SMEATON is a Course and Distance winner off marks of 60 and 67. Drops back in to Class 5 after some decent Class 4 runs and off a mark of 70...Read More
Musselburgh 3.25 - 5 Furlongs Class 3 - 13 Run - Good We saw here last time with a Tricast how important a HIgh Draw can be and provided you can find something with ability and well handicapped in those Stalls it's always worth a punt on the ;law of averages. The Good Going suggests no reason why the usual advantage should not apply again toda...Read More
THE CURRAGH 2.30 Handicap - 5 Furlongs - Yielding 18 run The Straight course firmily favoured LOW Drawn number at the last Meeting on Good Going and indeed that seems to be the trend in recent times. We've had significant success with a few of these at big Odds already this summer, and Blairmayne almost produced a very big one last time, ...Read More
Market Rasen 2.10 - Handicap Chase - 2 miles 5 1/2 Furlongs - Good - 16 runThis is a Course where races can be stolen off the front by any horse who can get in to a nice rhythm and jump well. The bend in to the bottom off the back straight can see many make a move too soon and the relatively short straight up the slight hill after turning in allows...Read More
Good Morning; A poor day yesterday. You can't legislate for a pair of well fancied and well back horses finishing stone last, and near stone last. In both instances there were legitimate reasons reported by Jockey's afterwards, Smeatin anticipated the start and banged it's head on the stalls and lost many lengths and Percy Street app...Read More
Good MorningThere is nothing more frustrating, other than not winning, than non-runners and we seem to have had a few lately, with the quietly fancied Big Gossey at The Curragh yesterday the latest. Primos Comet ran a solid place at Musselburgh although the usual Draw bias did not come in to play as it has done so many times recently, certainl...Read More
So near and yet so far yesterday, those that followed the advice to back to 8th place with Sky or 7th with PP yesterday will have had a decent enough each way return with Bell Rock 3rd at 10/1, Dubai Mirage 5th at 16/1 and Anythingtoday 7th at 18/1 in The Cambridgeshire. The only tip that didn't deliver something was the token low draw tip Mon...Read More
An ultimately frustrating day yesterday that hinged on one of those "what happened next" Races at Uttoxeter. The selection Drumreagh ran an excellent race, up with the pace for almost all of the near 3 miles, just tired 2 out but was staying on well in 3rd when the 2 horses who led in to the last met trouble, the leader falling and badly hampe...Read More
Good MorningA bit of a frustration that even with 3 reserves that the field at Listowel was decimated somewhat yesterday but nothing wrong with the analysis or tips really as Bashyir, advised when 14/1 was runner up, just beaten by a much shorter priced horse when there was a ful betting market, and if any of the bookies did honour 4th place bets a...Read More
