Cheltenham 1.15 Novice Handicap Chase Class 2 - 2 miles 4 1/2 Furlongs (New Course) 12 runA competitive field but the lack of experience at anywhere quite like Cheltenham is a telling factor for many as it is far removed from some of the flat "Park Type" Courses most have run and run well at.I am drawn to a pair as Tip and Tracker.CHAMPAGNE COURT i...Read More
Doncaster 3.55 Class 4 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 84 yards - Good to Soft - 14 run There were 4 of the 14 who took my eye and the obvious one is Supreme Escape who is the one to beat and on whom I will have a calculated "win saver" bet to cover my other investments in the race. The one I most like and the tip is DUBH DES CHAMPS who is a Co...Read More
THYESTES CHASE - Gowran Park 3.00 18 run (plus 3 reserves) 3 miles 1 furlong - Going is SOFT! Whilst there are the usual suspects at the bottom of the market whose best days are well behind them, you never know, although i think the race this year looks set to be contested by the top 6-7 in the market, so it's a case of finding the r...Read More
AYR 3.00 Handicap Chase, Class 4 - 2 miles 5 1/2 furlongs 10 run - Heavy The market here is dominated by Aloomomo and Calivigny, both are in form and very much respected but at the odds not really betting propositions. The each way value may well lie with TALKOFGOLD who has a good Course record, winning off a mark of 102, comes...Read More
Haydock 4.15 - 3 miles and 1/2 furlong Class 3 and the last race on the Card and that means an absolute slog in the mud. This is a race tailor made therefore for a Sue Smith horse and mid-winter is the time that the Yard tend to hoover up races like this. SILVER ECLIPSE has some solid and consistent Course form, only negative is that it is a horse ...Read More
A poor day yesterday for both Elite and Daily Tips, been a fair while since either Daily or Elite had a complete blank on a Saturday but we dust down and move on. NH today at Fontwell, Sedgefield and Naas and although some competitive races it's mostly low grade and nothing can really be tipped with confidence. It is a day where a nu...Read More
A satisfactory day again yesterday as the "win saver" Supreme Escape won the tip race at Doncaster, followed home by the sole Tip Dubh Des Champs, that pair were well clear and in third was one of the Tracker/Tricast selections Lord Getaway. That delivered win and each way profit and for those that had a small Tricast Perm a return of £...Read More
The Thyestes delivered a Tracker winner with Total Recall emerging from the fog to win at 16/1 and a placed tip (as pretty much every Bookie apart from the thieves at Bet 365) paying out to 5th place where Roaring Bull finished. A decent result all round. NH today at Doncaster and Huntingdon, both reported Good to Soft > Soft after a drier ...Read More
It's nice to be back and whilst the lack of tips on Tuesday was announced and planned, the lack of tips yesterday was due to me having to stay in hospital for an extra night and although we did get a message up on Twitter, sorry for any inconvenience. Back to normal today and for the foreseeable future. The highlight today is one of those...Read More
A shame that Talkofgold was a non runner yesterday although the Tracker in that race (Casual Cavalier) ran a decent place at nice odds of 17/2. McGintys Dream also ran a nice place at 8/1 (advised 12/1) in the 4.00 at Ayr. The best run undoubtedly came from Nobody Home over at Thurles, just failing to get up at 20/1 (advised 33/1) in a race wh...Read More
