A decent run by Hellenista at Catterick last night to be runner up at 8/1 and an equally decent run at Worcester from Caspers Court to be third also at 8/1. The frustrating fact was that ift Of Raaj, the clearly identified reserve following some good analysis won the Catterick race at 28/1 and Gold Leader, narrowly missing an investment at Worcester but well identified in the analysis, was runner up at Worcester at 18/1. The results ARE paramount and most important of course, but the analys... A nice win for SWEET STING at Tipperary last night although we could have done with the Staking suggestion being higher. Both of the unexposed types ran poorly and below expectation and may need more time. They'll be added to the Tracker and we'll monitor them closely as there is latent 3 mile P2P ability with both whereas Sweet Sting is wholly exposed, wins in turn, and we managed to have a small investment on one of those very occasional wins last night. Plenty of Racing today as you'd ex... When Blowing Wind (advised at 18/1) and Lilikoi (advised at 20/1) led going into the final furlong at Ayr yesterday it looked like we were on for something very nice, both unfortunately faded, finishing 4th and 5th. THose who went odds to 4th as advised, which in reality was the majority of main Boolies should still get a pay out on Lilikoi at 12/1 and a few who went the Skybet route to 5th may get a pay out to 20/1 SP for 5th. It certainly backed up some more good analysis from up North an... [Read More]

A decent enough run by Bird On The Wire at Hexham last night, always prominent and delivered a nice place at 10/1 and a perfect example of a bit of value in a tight race, no complaints about the race or the winner. Tralee Hills was a non runner at Nottingham, Wynford was very well backed, (I think put up by one of those Tweeters who people follow off a cliff), but was ultimately disappointing. There is Flat Turf action today at Ayr and Yarmouth, Jumps at Southwell and Warwick (small fields)... Good MorningA day rather spoilt by non-runners due to changes in Going yesterday delivered placed runs for King Of Tonga and Shady Operator. There are 7 Meetings today, a couple of them on the Flat in Ireland, AW at Wolverhampton ; NH Cards at Hexham and Huntingdon and Turf Flat at Brighton and Nottingham. We'll focus on Flat at Nottingham and NH at Hexham and a few Trackers too. It was frustrating that Ransom broke out of the Stalls at Naas yesterday as we quietly fancied a big run and he had been nibbled at from a starting point of around 66/1 to around 33/1, he's one we'll keep a close eye on! No excuses with the run of Coins Cross into third, best of the rest home in a race dominated by a pair berthed in the lowest Stalls. There is a lot (of welcome) heavy thundery rain today in the Midlands and North, that makes us cautious with going conditions, probably ... The decision to focus on a couple of moderate races away from the main TV action paid off yesterday and could quite easily have had a better return than it did. FROG AND TOAD won nicely at Thirsk at 13/2 advised at 15/2 and Mackie Dee, advised at 20/1 was a runner up at 15/2 and Time Leader, the tip advised at 13/2 was placed 3rd at Uttoxeter.  Mackie Dee ran a fine race and came to win it but probably got to the front a bit too soon and easily and was just mugged on the line. Having h... Liberated lad finished an enhanced 4th at Newbury yesterday at 13/2 having been advised at 8/1 with the other main selection Tralee Hills a non runner due to the Going being firmer than anticipated. Love Is Golden ran an excellent race to finish 3rd at York at 8/1, having been advised at 11/1, the other main selection was Parachute who finished a slightly disappointing 5th. Our Northern expert wasn't able to repeat his excellent 1-2 from the day before up at Hamilton with Flying M... A welcome return to form for our Northern expert yesterday, not that he'd been out of form for more than a day on occasions over the past few weeks finding Cruyff Turn and Brunch to finish 1-2 at SP's of 8/1 (advised 12's) and 11/2 (advised 8's) respectively. I suppose if we were being greedy in terms of staking we may have wanted them to finish the other way round, but some excellent analysis nonetheless. I was less impressive regarding the 1.50 race, a 25/1 5th if you went enhanced to 5th... A very poor and frustrating day at York yesterday for us. Global Storm was 4th in the opener just missing a place with most Bookies although if you took the advice to go with Hills or Coral at 8/1 advised a bit of change back at least. I didn't think it was given the best of rides to be honest, a few have pointed out too about the ride given to Sir Plato on Tuesday, and this mirrored that when the young jockey seemed to wait to long and wanted too much cover, but it probably only cost the d... Although Rocket Dancer was a 6/1 winner yesterday (advised 10/1) we can't hide the fact that (a) we got the staking wrong, (b) the other 2 selections didn't deliver at all and (c) we talked ourselves out of Motorayel who was a game runner up at 18/1. Disappointing too at Chepstow. Our Northern expert is clearly in good nick overall though and hopefully we can continue that at York over the next few days. Very sad news this morning that Billesdon Brook, one of our favourite heroines and subj... A decent run for O'Reillys Pass, who justified it's speculative suggestion at Catterick, beaten only by the strong favourite to finish runner up at 11/1 SP (advised at 16/1). We then had a short priced (for us) winner with Yasmin From York winning at 10/3 (advised at 6/1) and that was backed up by an excellent run to be runner up by Lindwall at 18/1 (SP) who drifted from the advised 15/2.  Three selections on the day all delivering some Net Profit which is pretty much the aim we s... A few decent runs at Hamilton yesterday and we were a shade unlucky to not come away with a winner but our Northern expert once again hitting the crossbar when not winning with a pair of runners up with Mostawaa at an SP of 7/1 (advised 9/1)  and Captain Haddock at 6/1 (advised 9/1)  with Harswell Duke a fast finishing 3rd who didn't get the easiest run in 3rd at 15/2 (advised 14/1). There are 6 meetings today including one at Roscommon and an AW at Wolverhampton, Jumping at ... A frustrating day yesterday with sliters of some each way return; from a few horses and Ian will cover off some learning points in the mail in the morning as he's in the chair next week as I'm away on a short break. The high drawn horses had an advantage in The Victoria Cup where River Nymph ran an excellent race at the price, Panic Attack was placed at Haydock and a fe may have got a small return on Neon Moon, whilst in the first tip race of the day HMS President picked up some 4th pl... We started the day at Chester yesterday with another nice winner with Red Mirage advised at 10/1 winning at 6/1 just hanging on for the win with a very accurate piece of analysis again by our Northern expert. We hit the crossbar with Rajinsky in the big race placing third and Heart Of Soul was an enhanced 5th. An object lesson on how to ride Chester and how not to ride Chester in the big race yesterday. Pride Of America tipped at 6/1 and a winner at half the price was given the perfect ride by Silvestre De Souza from the front. Whilst you can't always get to the front there, the one thing that doesn't work is to expend too much energy from the back, it's a bit like a game of Chess, waiting for the breaks. Unfortunately David Probert, who has been in excellent form to be fair to him, tried to make head... [Read More]

A nice winner yesterday with Thoughts Of June at 7/1 and we then had Paws For Thought, well backed into 7/2 just touched off. It shows the fine margins in Flat racing for sure. Broken Spear got going late to finish 4th and that would have paid an enhanced place with most bookies but with a number of non-runners we'll assume it wasn't paid out in terms of record keeping.  We'll look at a race at Chester again today with a few other pointers from our Northern expert, and also a delve in ... A mixed day yesterday both in terms of results and emotionally. Goodnight Charlie ran well enough to finish 4th and just out of the places at Fakenham, Supreme Escape though, usually a consistent horse had one of those days where he never went a yard and was pulled up. At Wetherby Hostelry ran as well as we could have hoped finishing a good runner up at 9/1 and it was not a surprise to see Highland Reel finish well for 4th at 22/1 and if you had a few quid in running then a nice run for you... Good Morning; NO TIPS today --------An enhanced 4th payout at 12/1 from a running-on Zellie in the 1000 Guineas yesterday and she is another horse that I think will improve for 10 or 12 furlongs, being French though whether we'll see much of her who knows?.  If Royal Ascot turned out Good to Soft or Soft I'd fancy her in any race over 10 furlongs or slightly further.A 3rd place too for Fieldsman at Salisbury.Looking at today's Cards and other than at The Curragh, again small ... A decent number of big priced places and enhanced places returned yesterday to get us back on an even keel after the 3 disappointing days at Punchestown. That's a Meeting / Festival we will swerve in future as it has never really delivered for us.  A good run from Eydon into 4th and an SP of 33/1 in the 2000 Guineas and a small reverse F/Cast too if you played that angle. I think Eydon will make up into a nice 10 furlong horse later in the season and it'll be interesting to see where t... [Read More]

A day when we go from famine to feast in terms of the number of big-field races to attack. It's still early season though on the Flat and although its a new season over the Jumps, we all know that in reality many horses come straight off a tiring NH season that only finished a few days ago, so we'll tread carefully and try to cherry pick the best options. There is an excellent Card at Newmarket and the focus is on the 2000 Guineas so we'll cover that but the excellent Sprint Race at 1.... Another poor day at Punchestown with the big Handicap race won for the second day running by a wholly exposed and apparently poorly handicapped veteran. No complaints and A Great View ran a lovely race and was a deserved winner, but it was 15th in the same race last year, just a few pounds better off and that makes any form analysis tough to quantify. The selections that ran finished 15th (Tenanae), Unexpected depth (18th); Memory Lane (19th) and Silver Sheen (PU after leading early). That's fra... [Read More]

We can't hide away from the fact that it's been a bitterly disappointing first 2 days at Punchestown and whilst it's not the first time we've struggled at this Meeting, we will throttle back today and just focus on the one race there. We started the week with a 22/1 winner at Ayr but in reality there has been precious little to attack since in the UK with the dry weather meaning restricted field sizes and the same applies today with barely any races of note with fields of more than 8 at Che... It was a shame that Eskyland was a non runner in the featured race yesterday, they took him out on account of the ground, I can't see any future entries, so one we will keep an eye on. Hearts Are Trumps fell when going OK as the race was just developing, Glan made a bad jumping error 4 out when travelling well and was then pulled up quite quickly as if something was amiss. The day and the week got off to a great start yesterday with CLASSY AL winning up at Ayr at 22/1, given a nice confident ride he tracked the pace on the far side and won a shade cosily in the end for Jim Goldie. We therefore had high expectations for the final race at Thirsk with Magical Effect and Northbound but both finished at the back of the field from low draws in a race won by Stall 6 but then followed in by a number of horses drawn hig and the last 4 home were from the lowest 4 draws. A very disappointing day yesterday and frustrating, especially the Navan race, which I'll come on to. The Bet 365 Chase went to Ireland and a horse who allegedly cost £650, a fantastic investment if so. The race as is often the case at Sandown was dominated by pace with Step Back leading them all a merry dance and  with the main challengers may be feeling the sting in the ground after a hard season, t was no surprise that the majority pulled up. It was most disappointing that Enr... [Read More]

A decent run by Dubai Devils at Perth yesterday and he got the closest to Slipway who was given an excellent ride and slipped the field turning in. He's probably the most frustrating horse for us this winter is Slipway, we'd tracked him just prior to him winning a poor race at Southwell at 33/1 but didn't flag him up on the daily e-mail, we took him off the TRackers after a poor run next time and to be frank, Southwell is hardly the place to find many progressive 3 mile long distance types, but ... The analysis of the tip race at Beverley yesterday provered pretty accurate aside from a well fancied and short priced winning favourite as we correctly picked Termonator as runner up 6/1; Saulire Star to be 3rd at 11/1 and the shrapnel horse Bit Of a Quirke to be an enhanced 4th with many paying out as we had suggested at 22/1.
