A mixed day yesterday with the 2 Irish selections running very poorly, as indeed did many of Elliotts horses although the mentioned Mullins horse Brahma Bull did finish runner up at big odds. Much better at Goodwood where the confidently tipped SWEET REWARD won at 9/1, probably benefitting when its main rival drifted into it but pushed it across to the far rail and that rail was a big benefit and factor in a tidy length and a half win for The Advisor. A number of Meetings tod... There are some days when in hindsight any Tipster may look back and think they should have left alone and not tipped for the sake of delivering something. I think yesterday was in that category and whilst our Northern Expert has done exceptionally well, if the ammo is not there on a specific day, best not to push luck or cloud what seems to be sound judgement and analysis. Today offers the chance for us to explore The Kerry National at Listowel and also a competitive Class 4 Handicap with d... There are plenty of runners on both Irish Cards but they look incredibly tricky and too much a case of guesswork. Some decent action in the UK too but the only really decent Handicap to attack is the Veterans Race at Hamilton over a mile and a half on soft / heavy Going. [Read More]

An excellent 1-2 for Staxton at 25/1 SP (advised 28/1) and Soldiers Minute at SP 18/1 (advised 18/1) in the Silver Cup yesterday, a nice Forecast for those that play that bet of £380.19 and I've had a few mails about some Tricast Perms that permed the reserve (Magical Spirit) who was 4th beaten a neck. We were unable to repeat the result in The Gold Cup, where Bielsa turned the draw bias on its head (as suggested can happen a few times by our Northern Expert over the past 3 days) but ... Danzan ran very well yesterday to get a place in the Bronze Cup, just swallowed up in a blanket finish but one of the few all day to place off a double figure Draw on the straight track. There has been rain at Ayr yesterday afternoon/evening but informed sources suggest not as heavy as some have indicated on social media. The Going has been amended to Good from Good to Firm, looks a cloudy but dry day, so I thin we have to assume Good is an accurate description. Our Northern Expert wil... [Read More]

A bit of frustration yesterday with First Impression a non runner and Warranty being withdrawn before the start, but no complaints about CHICHESTER who won nicely at 6/1, having been advised at 9/1 but the SP impacted by non-runners. We'll stay North at Ayr today with the Card at Newbury looking like a favourites market day, and see if we can crack the BRONZE CUP and there is also a sporting one suggested at a big price in a later race. Those of you that followed the suggestions yesterday will have made a net profit, it's always the way the cookie seems to crumble where Staking is concerned.  Some decent Flat action today at Ayr (Day 1 of the big Meeting) and at Pontefract, we had got some news of a progressive Irish 2 year old that's a bit under the radar but that was pulled out at declaration stage from a race today so Sean is monitoring entries very closely and suspects they are waiting for a bit more cut in the gr... Good Morning; A disappointing run by Watching Brief who dropped out at mid point of the race at Fontwell yesterday, a better run from Jamesanitpatrick who looked booked for 3rd at one point until clobbering the last hurdle and losing all momentum on the long run in. That was a better run and whist Watching brief looks done for the summer JSP definitely one to track at probably 3 miles and on anything with Soft in the Going description. Today looks a bit like a "try to find anything" ki... A fair enough run yesterday from Naughty Anna to be runner up at 15/2 and I think worth tracking French Red who finished closer to first than last and with a better draw may have run a place. We'll switch Codes today with a half decent NH Fixture at Fontwell Park where some light rain should ensure genuinely Good jumping ground and mean no excuses for anything other than out and out mud lovers (who won't be out for a while yet) or real top of the ground rattlers (who may be already in winte... A fast finishing 3rd from Prince of Abington yesterday and may be a horse to follow on a stiffer track over 6 furlongs or if upped to an intermediate distance on a galloping track like York or Doncaster possibly? A mixed bag today with Turf Flat at Brighton and Thirsk and NH at Worcester with some AW at Kempton. We'll again head North and a competitive Handicap Sprint with 19 runners offers some possibly big price value [Read More]

A nice win for Ever Present in Ireland, a few may have got a small e/w return on Shoshone Warrior in 6th but after a very poor result at Doncaster in The Portland a losing day overall. A couple of big field Handicaps top and tail The Curragh Card but Sean has fed-back his views that those races are just about "unfathomable".   Haydock stages a "twilight Sunday" Card, a new innovation and it will be interesting to see how it pans out and there are at least some decent fie... A nice win for the tip Rhythmic Intent at Doncaster yesterday and with the other tip Chairmanoftheboard placing 3rd a decent return after a poor week by recent standards, although we could have done with both Trackers coming to the party too. Big field Handicaps at Doncaster and Leopardstown catch the eye of our Northern Expert and Sean today, nothing from Elite this weekend hopefully back next weekend. No Tips/Trackers - suggested smaller bet for those that want it below. A decent enough 3rd place from Gold Arch yesterday to continue the run of nice placed horses and a bit more than frustrating that one we planned to track off a mark we thought needed to decline a bit more (Master Milliner) should pop up a race or two too soon, that's racing! Very poor UK Cards again and just the one in Ireland to pass on as a "suggestion" from Sean. In the 6.10 at GALWAY he will ... It was a bit frustrating to see Island Brave win at Haydock given the analysis and a nice price of 10/1. The style of the run surprised, making all rather than coming late, but a case of a very canny tactical change from an in form yard. The runs of Hochfield and Indianapolis very disappointing. Trinity lake eeeked out a place at 7/1 at Thirsk on a poor day overall. Small fields again today though good to see Fontwell back but small fields there and at Perth over the Jumps and a very p... A 4th place on the line from Moyode Lady at 9/1 (advised 11/1) just about ensured that we wiped our noses yesterday. Another day without the really big field Handicaps but some competitive racing nonetheless at Ascot; Haydock; Thirsk and elsewhere and although nothing that catches David's eye this week we have selections from our Northern Expert from Haydock and Thirsk. A 4th place for Hans Solo may have gained a bit of shrapnel for those enhancing to 4th place yesterday. Once again very poor field sizes generally in the UK especially at the two main Venues today at Ascot and Haydock. A number of AW Meetings and some jumping in Ireland where Sean has a couple he fancies at nice prices. Our Northern Expert had a good look at Pontefract and whilst he thinks the veteran MR ORANGE may outrun Odds off a mark of 57 in the 7.00 race, there are a number of pr... A couple of decent enough runs at Hexham yesterday, Dutch Canyon was runner up at 8/1 having run prominently and led at the last he was picked off by a better horse who you'd suspect won with a bit in hand. Ever So Much also ran prominently and looked to be going very well 2 out. Sadly it found nothing off the bridle nevertheless a bit of a kick in the goolies when it just got done on the line for 3rd place, finishing 4th and out of the places at 12/1 to thwart an each way return and a small eac... As the evening racing winds down into twilight racing there will be fewer Meetings and hopefully bigger fields too. A couple of Flat and a couple of NH Fixtures today and very few races have double figure fields. Robin has a look at the closing 2 races on the Hexham Card and a suggestion of 2 e/w singles and an e/w double. Good Morning; A nice 22/1 place from Bit of A Quirke yesterday who did all it could and ran very much in the style expected from the analysis. Very poor Bank Holiday Cards in terms of quantity and quality is never great on these days. We did take a long look at a couple of races, most notably the 3.25 at Chepstow which has a decent field but too many questions to be confident. Back with another look tomorrow. A frustrating day yesterday in respect of finding winners but some good placed efforts and once again good analysis and if you keep hitting the target the wins will flow. Justanotherbottle was runner up in the big race, no complaints with an easy winner but ran as well as could be expected. The biggest disappointment was Indianapolis who looks to be a regressive horse now. More excellent analysis and big price place spots from our Northern Expert with Gullane One running an excell... A fair enough run by the tip WOVEN to be runner up yesterday, it missed the break in a race won from the front in impressive style and was good enough to pass all but the winner. Another decent bit of analysis from the very consistent Northern and AW expert who will try again today at Beverley and Redcar. The main focus though is David and The Elite Service with a thorough analysis of The Beverley Bullet and we also have analysis and selections from The Advisor at Goodwood. A poor run on the Flat at Carlisle yesterday by Flying Moon, really had no excuses other than the Jockey indicating to the Stewards that the horse was "never travelling" and a slow start may have done for the horse mentally. A much better run from COUNTISTER who led over the last but who was just done for stamina and turn of foot in the last 100 yards up the deceptively steep final incline. Certainly the analysis of the extra 1/2 mile being worth trying was a good spot and this one can be compet... [Read More]

Good Morning; Our Northern expert is in a remarkably consistent spell right now and it seems if one doesn't win then it just gets beaten on the nod, as was the case with Dapper Man yesterday who had been advised at 10/1 and returned an SP of 17/2. Some moderate and mostly small field Cards today and it does look like one of those days likely to be dominated by head of the market. The nearest to a suggestion is 39 race Maiden CORTON LASS in the closer at Musselburgh at 5pm.&nb...
