A typically competitive Donaster handicap but there is one near the top of the market and one deep down the market that I have most confidence in following deep analysis of the known form. I'm not sure Great Max is of real value at the top of the market as it is hard to know what its best trip actually is. Society Lion won at 7 furlongs last time, gets a 5lbs penalty and I suspect a mile here might just stretch stamina to the limit. Rogue Sea on the other hand may be best at 10 fu... [Read More]

An enhanced 5th place for Qitaal at 22/1 SP at York to open the day yesterday and a 7/2 winner and 5/1 enhanced 5th at Fairyhouse in the other tip race, where if you'd followed the advice about Out On Friday at 33/1 you'd have picked up a nice 16/1 SP place too. What's as positive for me and one key aspect of "punting logic" is that the analysis correctly identified and visualised; the way each race was run,  and if we can continue to do that, then some big priced e/w punts will c... I'll start with an apology for the inconvenience caused by our internet access issues yesterday. I wasn't able to get reliable service until around 1pm at which point the analysis was updated on to the Members Paddock. There was a further outage from 2pm until around 5pm, all is thankfully now up to speed and in fact proper speed as we have been on lower than usual "speed spunk" for a few weeks. A nice 14/1 winner for us at Newbury with Blue Yonder excelling as predicted back up to 10 furlo... A couple of placed efforts yesterday from the win only bet Hobbs Delight and a confident e/w pick in True Or False. There is very little to enthuse over today with Soft going at Yarmouth, Good to Firm at Hamilton and Limerick and meetings too at Fontwell and Kempton (AW). We will abstain on the soft in East Anglia, Sean and Michael anticipate a glut of non runners on the Firm Going at Limerick and we can't find anything on the AW. A couple of longer priced horses have caught the e... A decent run from Streets Of Doyen an enhanced 4th at 25/1 last night but i have to say bitterly disappointing runs from the Gordon Elliott pair and maybe a sign that the Elliott yard is possibly just going through the motions at the moment and possibly in twice yearly inoculation mode with their Jumpers. There are Flat Fixtures at Salisbury and Wetherby today but nothing really stands out for The Advisor who would usually cover Salisbury, nor our Northern Expert (more about him below)... A disappointing day for us yesterday. I had planned a bit of an update email this morning covering off recent results and form overall and also discussing some moot points like changeable Going, glut of non-runners (including some confident tips) and general luck / rub of the green. I'm not quite finished as I want to pull in some very interesting Tipster data covering 3-6-12 months, so I will now put that in tomorrow morning's email. One issue that we will discuss is changea... A frustrating day at Beverley and Punchestown yesterday and in some regards at Navan, I will give thoughts on those and today's outcomes in the monday e-mail, together with some news of a few tweaks to the types of Racing we'll start to cover in the coming months as the Flat Turf season enters its core summer phase. We have a tip race at Goodwood and a couple at Punchestown today, where they switch from Flat to Jumps. A frustrating start to the day at Market Rasen was followed by a place run at Thirsk and a non-runner at Haydock (more of that shortly) and disappointment at Bath, but not for the first time the day was rescued by a nice Irish winner with the sole runner at Clonmel after a non runner there too, with Killashee winning at an SP of 11/1 advised at 14/1 although there may be a bit of a Rule 4 deduction. With Haydock racing again today the Going there is as seems the norm the main topic of conve... We've had to work off scraps in terms of decent race options with decent sized fields all week, a few placed horses who could have nicked wins with a little bit of luck but disappointing yesterday. We have 8 Meetings today and could probably have made valid and confident enough selections in 8-10 of them. We've narrowed the actual tips down to 5 races and kept the number of selections down to a couple in each race and actually just the one runner in a 16 runner Sprint. We will start to look... I think we got exactly what we anticipated from Shortcross Storm at Newton Abbot yesterday and the tactics were patently clear. On this occasion they got the fractions wrong and raced too freely and a couple who laid up closest off the pace thrived from it. Sadly Puddlesinthepark sat way too far back and turned the race for itself into something it was totally unsuited to. Shortcross Storm will run all its races like that, but there is always that 10-20% chance it slips a field occasio... [Read More]

A similar scenario to Monday in the sole tip race yesterday after some heavy rain led to a few non runners. Eric Carmen ran well for a fair way before the increasingly wet ground took its toll but Fine By Me ran a brave and bold race at 17/2 SP (advised 10/1) just capitulating, after a ding dong battle down the straight, in the final 100 yards. Beaten by a better horse on the day but one to follow. There are Meetings at Nottingham and Ripon today that look to be most likely to be ... [Read More]

An inexplicably poor run from Phoenix Fire at Ayr yesterday as the horse never really settled and ran too freely, meanwhile at Windsor a very strong run from Intercessor who did everything but win and no complaints about the 8/1 SP runner up and a promising run too from My Ambition before fading and we'll certainly track that one for next few runs. The Schedule today on the 4th day of the meteorological summer delivers us a couple of AW Fixtures, a summer NH fixture and a sole tur... A place with Killeemore Lad, and a definite one for the TRACKER (Meramorpheus) yesterday on a quiet day. It's another quiet day today, despite it being a Bank Holiday in Ireland and 4 Meetings in the UK, we have pretty moderate field sizes and lower Grade Racing and a likelihood that the top end of the markets will tend to dominate. We think and have a decent level of confidence though that we have found a few at nice prices in a couple of target races at Ayr and Windsor. Ambient Friendly ran very well to finish runner up in what I think will turn out to be a very moderate 2024 Derby crop and a nice bit of e/w if you got the 8/1. Sayedaty Sadaty was just beaten on the line for the widely available 4th enhanced place at an SP of 50/1 but certainly looks like a StLeger type to me and might pick up a race before then somewhere in the UK or possibly Ireland.  Tillougha advised at 16/1 picked up an enhanced 5th place at 8/1 SP in Ireland but the best ru... A chastening day at Epsom yesterday. The writing was on the wall to be honest early in each race and after a few races it was pretty clear that the only option was to be at the head or near the head of the field as horse after horse who tried to come from the back was visually either treading water in the sticky ground, or , as is often the case there became unbalanced. It wasn't as if we were on no-hopers, as pretty much every selection was flagged up pre-race by the ITV Experts as a dark horse... [Read More]

There is not a single Handicap race across the 5 Meetings at Chepstow; Carlisle; Doncaster; Catterick and Stratford today with more than 10 runners.  What kind of idiot schedules Flat Turf Fixtures at Carlisle,Catterick and Doncaster on the same day, did these pillocks ever have a geography lesson? We then have the most important 3 year old female horse race of the year at 4.30pm on a Friday afternoon....why not have The Derby and Oaks on the same day?, why not run The Oaks o... We were due a big priced winner in Ireland after a number of decent priced placed efforts and Sceptered Isle delivered in great style and at a great SP of 28/1, in the other Irish tip race, Tramps Like Us widely available at 28/1 when advised ran a good 3rd place at around 12/1 SP. No joy at Beverley though with the sole tip after a non runner. A dearth of runners again today at some Tracks and we'll swerve Limerick who face an Inspection due to Firm Ground (hard to believe to be quite fran... A nice boost for the revamped TRACKER with Obee Jo winning at 12/1 yesterday and I thought the run of Fullforward was promising enough and as we mentioned yesterday the key to this one will be when they add some headgear, and we'll be waiting and watching patiently. There are a few more options today despite small fields at Newton Abbot and Hamilton, we have selected 2 main races, one at Beverley and one at Tipperary, both on the Flat and Sean has one he has identified at Wexford at a ... Good Morning; A couple of decent runner up efforts yesterday but with significantly lower SP's than advised prices due to non runners and late market support. All very frustrating! A glut of very moderate Meetings again today across all spheres and despite looking very closely at 4-5 double figure sized Handicaps , they look most likely to be "market dominated" and frankly in the case of a couple very competitive with nothing really standing out. On such days, despite there being ... [Read More]

A bit late to get started this morning, I woke up and looked at the Newspaper Headlines ( an old habit online), and decided I must be dreaming or it was April 1st so I gave my head a wobble and went back to sleep and I missed the Alarm. A decent start at Bath yesterday with Pink Lily winning nicely and Uther pendragon grabbing the big priced enhanced 4th place that we predicted was a genuine possibility. Less joy there in the second tip race. Our Northern Expert deserves a break and will surely get one soon and then I really think the winners will flow. An expected winner at Limerick yesterday with KIlmurry JJ, a number of non runners though and an unlucky faller in the other tip race. It's frustrating that tips in Ireland are non-runners on rapidly firming ground, whilst in the Mainland several Tracks are running in deep mud. Hopefully things will start to stabilise and the weather will play ball. We've thoroughly scoured the Fixtures today and found four Handicap Races we can confidently attack, a Class 3 race at Goodwood, a co... A decent enough effort from the selections at Yarmouth yesterday, we knew it would be raining at Warwick but the abandonment did come as a surprise. There was clearly a lot of rain across the South and Midlands yesterday so we'll leave the Turf Cards at Sandown and Lingfield (mixed with AW) Catterick stage an all Sprint Card but the biggest handicap field is an all age 3 year old Card with not such Soft Going form to work from. Not much option wise at Market Rasen over the Jumps and nothing... [Read More]

A nice win for On My Bike at Punchestown yesterday, advised at 8/1 and well backed in to 9/2. Unfortunately Dinoland could not back that up following an excellent effort last time out, never really travelling and pulled Up but the Vet indicated that the horse was very stiff, so plausible reasons not to discard this one yet, and we'll TRACK it forwards.  There are a number of meetings starting the day with Good to Firm Going but with possibly very heavy rain forecast. There is an INspec... [Read More]

A smattering of Flat and Turf Meetings on the Mainland today but with showery rain about and not many decent all aged Handicaps to attack, we'll go over to Ireland where the guys are generally in far better and more consistent form in search of a couple of winners, or at the very least some decent placed finishers. The Cork Card on the Flat looks tricky and probably market dominated, a couple of nice handicap Hurdles though at Punchestown offer MIchael some confident options. We had one of those "nearly days" yesterday and overall it was frustrating. Mahler Appeal advised at 14/1 won at 9/2 and after a number of non runners and Rule 4 deductions the 9/2 would at least represent some value. Cloudy Fountain was a 12/1 runner up for Sean at the same venue. At Navan the prescribed win saver Global Export won at 7/2, backed up by The Truant runner up at 14/1 and Firm Belief in an enhanced place.
