A very welcome win at 33/1 SP for Lightonthewing at Chepstow yesterday, he was strongly fancied by The Advisor and delivered in fine front running style with some splendid analysis. A nice 14/1 winner at Newbury with Santos Blue and decent placed runs from Haiti Colours and Navajo Indy and I certainly think that Go Dante is a very well handicapped horse worth tracking on the next couple of runs. There are very decent Cards at Chepstow, Exeter and Navan today, we looked at 5 races closely and have decided on one each at each of the tracks with hopefully some nice each way value with some quiet confidence in a few at big prices in the early markets. Only Bredon Hill really ran up to expectations yesterday; finishing 3rd whilst the win of Laskalin was not entirely unexpected as you'll be aware after reading the race analysis, it was annoying to miss it. We lost the Meeting at Doncaster after a third Inspection yesterday which was frustrating as we had two tips there about which we had quiet confidence, we had a pair placed at Ffos Llas with Dream of Diamonds and Abbeyhill. We have some decent Racing to attack today unlike yesterday and we have selected a race each at Fairyhouse, Sedgefield and Ludlow, all with 12-13 runner fields so some each way value, all have pretty tightly packed top end of the market favourites in a price range up to 6/1, which can distort the market lower down and offer some each way value, and all with horses at bigger prices, which if you look long and hard enough throw up a few very juicy speculative bets. A nice 1-2 in the big field handicap in Ireland yesterday for the second successive year, Percival Legallois the 15/2 winner and the admirable and gallant Gaoth Chuill again the runner up at 11/1. An enhanced 5th place at 20/1 SP for Doyen Flyer simply mitigated some of the losses on the main tip race at Punchestown yesterday which was disappointing.
