A decent enough day yesterday with DAWSON CITY advised when 18/1 battling home in a tight finish, we didn't expect that Meeting to be on to be honest, hence the lack of detailed write up and the fact we just missed the usual 8.30am deadline we set ourselves; but the logic of experience in heavy conditions proved spot on. It was well backed later in the morning as some solid money came in for it from some reputable sources. Earlier ROCK ON AUSSIE gave us a great run for the 50/1 that was ava... [Read More]

A decent start yesterday when the quietly fancied TEQUILA BLAZE advised at 18/1 was a runner up beaten a couple of lengths at 11/1 with the front three well clear. That continued a decent run where when not winning we are picking up those bigger priced placed horses that add a bit to the pot, and something we weren't doing often enough in November time. Le Boizelo on the other hand was a total disappointment, very well backed after we'd advised at around 10/1, a number of more influential m... A very nice runner up run and some excellent analysis from Robin yesterday as Arctic Footprint, advised and widely available at 50/1, went off 25/1, came home runner up at Exeter. It was never going to win, although the winner did veer right off the last jump, but a nice return each way, especially if you were on at 50/1. A number of non runners meant it's highly unlikely you'd have been paid out on the 4th place had In Arrears finished in the 3.45, wisely I think, all but the market l... [Read More]

A placed run from Seangoell at Punchestown yesterday who faded late on after running with promise. With Nicoles Milan a non runner, a number of mails asking why we had not tipped/backed the winner Glenabo Bridge who we had tipped last twice at the back end of December (29th and 12th if you want to look back) finishing 4th both times. Sean confirmed that he didn't think the trip in heavy Going would suit, some rain probably made the Going softer and less sticky. One that got away but after the wi... [Read More]

It's hard to know what to say about yesterday's Racing at Punchestown. We tipped Owl Creek Bridge when it was 33/1 as tips went out, not sure when or where the plunge came in to 7/1, let's be very clear we can't and never have been able to move markets. That anomaly aside the race was eventful to say the least, started at the first which took Half Shot effectively out of the race and then at the 7th the three most prominent in the market were carried out or refused. We've always been p... [Read More]

A fair enough day yesterday with the win of Imperial Alcazar ensuring a net profit on the day in a race where the fall of Flemcara when in contention to place at least saw sadly 2 horses brought down and sadly fatally injured and our commiserations to connections of Espion and Ardlethen. The fact that the carnage that ensured allowed the gallant Saint Dalina to run into an enhanced 4th place having been advised at 25/1, was of absolutely no comfort and I'm sure we'd all give that profit back to ... A reasonable enough run from the 2 AW selections at Newcastle yesterday finishing 3rd and 4th both in the place money both at 7/1 having been advised at 17/2 and 8/1 for a small each way return. It's absolutely not my cup of tea AW, but our new AW Tipster has hit the ground running and on occasions if it's the only option, or looks the best option, a fresh string to our bow. With some decent NH today at Warwick, Market Rasen and Fairyhouse and no stand-out options on the AW at Lingfield or ... There is no NH today and an AW diet only with Southwell and Dundalk of no interest to us, mainly due to a lack of any expert Tipsters at those Tracks. A decent enough place for Royal Claret yesterday and as anticipated a decent run from Late Shipment (not tipped by analysed) and that's one to very closely look at next time. If you read the analysis of the 3.30 the win of Ballybreen, available at about 12/1 early and the run of Big Time Frank to place will have been no surprise and if you to... [Read More]

One of those days yesterday full of ifs buts and maybes and maybe more than normal in a fascinating if low Grade race at Plumpton. Alka Step had taken the sensible wide route, was tracking the winner nicely (more of the winner in a second) when making a bad error 4 out, it was quickly pulled up and we hope it will be OK, may just be an intelligent bit of riding as in those conditions very hard when momentum is lost. If the horse is sound, one to follow very closely as it could have gone ver... [Read More]

A decent run again from Uther Pendgragon at Lingfield yesterday, again stayed on late to finish 3rd at double figure Odds with the other selection The Game Is On running inexplicably badly. Smiths Cross was a last fence faller at Wetherby, having looked to hold a decent place chance at least for a fair way. We think a horse that can win moderate 3 mile Chases and one for your Trackers as it will put a good round of jumping together one day and as fitness improves will pick up a race somewhere.&n... A very good ride and brave front running performance from Uisce Ur at Doncaster yesterday, advised at 10/1 and won at 12/1 in a race where both of the other selections can justifiably claim to have had some bad luck in running and both may be worth following in a similarly lowly grade in a competitive fields at Class 5 level. Always good to start the week off with a nice winner though, let's see if we can add to that today. Sean has looked at the Fairyhouse Card but can't find any... A decent enough run from Flowing Cadenza who was advised at 25/1 in the opening tip race at Exeter yesterday but disappointment in the big Handicap Chase.   I know Ian's view afterwards was that he'd looked to hard for bigger priced value, and whilst Dancing Shadow ran well to a point the other one Sandy Boy never travelled a yard and was very disappointing. His view was that Crossley Tender was really the obvious one whose consistency is easy to overlook as it keeps just fin... [Read More]

The big race Saturday's can go either way and we have with very few exceptions had an excellent recent run with double figure profit a number of times on a Saturday in recent months. After a couple of races yesterday we were 9 points down and frankly nowhere near. Thankfully Hunters Call; Amour Du Nuit and Dhowin pulled us largely out of the fire with places runs and indeed the way HUNTERS CALL travelled it was a shade disappointing it couldn't go through and win a race won by a 66/1 shot.&... Great news that the Fixtures at Chepstow, Kempton and Wincanton are all ON after Inspections, we sadly lost Fairyhouse and there is also AW at Lingfield. David will focus on the Welsh Grand National and goes with his original selections from 27th December in likely similarly attritional conditions. WE have 2 selected races from Kempton, Frost Covers have been down there for a while and normally when lifted means the ground is "dead" and not really Good to Soft or Soft as described. We have ... Good Morning; After a long look at the AW Cards at Dundalk and Southwell our AW Tipster has decided NO tips or selections at Tracks that are not really on his expertise list. The AW Fixtures at Lingfield and Newcastle are not bona fide AW Fixtures but NH Bumper Races, hastily arranged for NH horses, best description I've heard for them comes from Ian who calls them "public schooling and fitness sessions" and definitely not a sensible betting proposition.  A disappointing day ... A nice win for Bernies Boy at Wolverhampton yesterday, given a good ride, advised at 28/1, wins at 22/1. Our new AW Tipster has made a start that we and any other Tipping Service introducing a new recruit could only dream of, but it's early days and we will just crack on and see where he takes us.  It's always been our style to take the wins and losses with equal good grace and fortitude and we won't change that. Staking advice remains an issue for some, especially when we win, so... There is increasing optimism of some decent NH action tomorrow and Friday and weather permitting an outstanding weekend of NH action including the re-scheduled Welsh Grand National. There is AW at Kempton and Wolverhampton today, with a bit of a lop-sided Card at Kempton with the only really interesting race (the 5.45) looking very top heavy in terms of the market, our AW expert has delved out what he thinks may be a bit of value in a race at Wolverhampton.Selections in the 2.20 at Wolverha... Good Morning; Some positive news out of the new Lockdown, which I think most of us have been wanting for several months, is that Elite Sports can continue behind closed doors. Horse Racing has had an almost unblemished record in terms of Covid spread and thankfully, the wonderful work and attention to detail of all involved ensures for now that Racing can continue. We had a decent but frankly frustrating day yesterday, with Episode a non-runner the tracker HEPBURN advised at 40/1 ran a... I think we have to start with consideration for the family and friends of Zoe Davison, a Yard that delivered a number of big value winners at the Sussex Tracks for us over the past decade and how fitting her Team delivered two more yesterday an hour or so before she sadly passed away with terminal illness. What a way to go out and so fitting. A nice double yesterday with Olivers Island winning at Catterick with the tracker Fame and Hope the only serious rival at the line (Border Victor a no... A nice return yesterday with 2 winners from the pair of selected races. Having found a runner up and third in his first appearance our new AW Tipster went one better with a winner Subliminal (advised 7/1 won 5/1) and an enhanced place with Uther Pendragon and some pretty accurate analysis of the race. We'll use him sensibly and sparingly as both races were at his favourite track of Lingfield and partially due to some good reading of the excellent current form of Simon Dow. Confidence i... A disappointing start to 2021, Oscar Ceremony was a shade unlucky, beaten on a "head bob" having had anything but a clear passage in the race, Red Risk was given an awful ride I thought, trying to take on a far more experienced horse up front and being blown away as a result, and whilst A LADIES MILAN ran well to place the winner (Bullion Boss) is clearly not a flukey winner last time ex 7 furlong Flat horse and ran well to win for an astute Yard who have clearly found a way to explore... A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.  We finished 2020 with more frustration in Ireland as another unexposed Mullins horse won, if you had the bit of shrapnel suggested when it was about 16/1, well done but it wasn't a tip or tracker and should have been. A host finished in a heap in behind and at decent Odds Chosen Hour was a shade unlucky not to get some each way returns and one to keep an eye on as it is a horse with scope to improve in the Grade. If you can't find the winner in y... We get to the last day of a truly awful year, in virtual lockdown and with it seems some very dangerous times ahead of us but the glimmer of hope that if the Country can do something it used to be outstanding at, but recently awful at E.G LOGISTICS, that we can be over the worst by the Spring of 2021. We start by wishing you all a Happy New Year, I think we'll all agree that if we are looking back in a years time at a bland boring entirely normal 2021 by usual standards, it'll have been a f... We had a break even/small net profit kind of day yesterday with Django Django running an enhanced place at Newbury in 5th at 8/1 and Glanabo Bridge and Half Shot finishing 3rd and 4th over at Limerick. David is convinced that Django Django may need further now in time, so one to keep an eye on. Although it was a day when we gained little, it's important to always not that it's equally important not to lose and in an inconsistent run over the past few months, where we've had a decent scatter... A nice win and place for Ian at Catterick yesterday with SIGURD appreciating optimum conditions and Smugglers Stash staying on to grad an enhanced place at decent Odds. Both were long term Tracker horses getting ideal conditions off nice marks as the analysis explained, if only it was always so easy. The Bosses Oscar came to win its race at Leopardstown, only to be overhauled by a bit of a Mullins "dark horse" who came over the top in the closing stages. Good MorningNo hiding place and we have to start on this Bank Holiday Monday with a post mortem on the big irish Race yesterday, if ever a race demonstrated fine margin between relative success and abject failure this was it, and it was the subject of a couple of hours of scrutiny across The Irish Sea last night on Zoom too. Had Fitzhenry finished 3/4 lengths nearer than 7th in to a 6th at 25/1 at 1 point each way it would have covered all bets and effectively a shot to nothing, instea... Hopefully everyone is having a good Christmas in a tumultuous year and we can find some nice profit in the coming week to close off 2020. We continued our recent consistent run of form in the past few weeks on our most recent tipping day, last Tuesday, with Crown Hill a somewhat unlucky loser just done on the line after some clear interference and Jamesaintpatrick a nice and decent priced third place. Boxing Day is usually a very busy day with 10-11 Meetings, around half... A decent pair of places yesterday from Getaday at 9/1 and especially Dubai Devils at 40/1. I know from an email chat that Ian was a bit gutted to have missed the 14/1 winner, especially as it had been flagged up as a tip by one of the few Racing Post race analysts that we think is half decent. What a Tricast that might have been.
