Wednesday 15th January

The selections yesterday ran well enough in a race won by the hot favourite but just missed out on places.

The good news is that we get some National Hunt Racing today at Clonmel, Newbury and Hereford. There aren't a glut of runners though at any of the meetings so sparse pickings. However, the easing (finally!) weather conditions bodes well for the coming days and hopefully we can get back into a nice rhythm of some decent competitive handicaps, three to four tip races per day, a stream of winners and big priced places and stay free of any weather extremes for the rest of the month and into February.

We'll be a bit cautious today on that horrible thawed frosty ground that can resemble pudding mix, and we'll have a selection each in a race at Clonmel and Newbury and then hopefully pick up the bit and return to normal in readiness for an exciting, if controversial (more on that on Friday) weekend of Racing.
