Monday 13th August

There is action today at Ayr, Ripon; Windsor; Wolverhampton and Ballinrobe. The Card at Ayr is full of competitive Class 6 races but we like the look of a decent Class 3 Handicap there, and elsewhere on Turf, there is a nice Class 4 long distance Handicap at Ripon; for us to get our teeth in to.

The plan and logic over the next few weeks will be to look for better Class of Racing each day, to target well handicapped and relatively fresh horses who have been kept away from the worst of the firm ground and intense heat of mid summer, and who have a proven aptitude at trip and Course. I can't see any reason why that strategy will not pay off. That does not mean we are suddenly going to win every race; but I think it is always vitally important to explain the logic, both to educate and also to ensure that we don't just give horses names and absolutely no explanation for the logic for the selection.

We have had a deluge of rain in the South West over the weekend; so looking forwards to a great day of racing at Newton Abbot of Wednesday, where I am going to try to twist the arm of a "tipping legend" to give us some pointers for the Card on Wednesday morning.

Whilst we don't have to repeat again how disappointing the horse racing tips have been over the past 6-8 weeks; there is no doubt that in Kevin Withey, we have a Golf Tipster, right on his "A Game" and another very profitable week for him at The USPGA with an outright winner in Koepka at 23/1; and placed finishes based on his detailed strategy for Woodland (12/1 top 10); Thomas (e/w @ 15/1 - finished 6th) and Molinari (top 7 @ 5.6/1 finished 6th); he also tipped and laid to guaranteed profit long time  Leader Gary Wodland at 150/1 and made profit as we went along with his early morning "in running" advices. Absolutely OUTSTANDING effort once again.

The selections today are from The Advisor at Ayr and Michael Gould at Ripon, in a race where we also have a 1/2 point "mention" and a suggested Tricast Perm.
