Sunday 23rd September

Good Morning

As I did not have to set off on a long trip over to Eastbourne yesterday due to torrential rain, I was able to contact a couple of our NH experts, who were only too pleased to have a chance to "flex their muscles" on competitive looking NH Cards at Plumpton and Uttoxeter. I know there has been heavy rain down in Sussex and I'm advised by neighbours that there has been a fair bit up in Staffordshire too, so we take the view that Going at both venues will be substantially softer than advertised. That is a calculated gamble, we are happy to take it, and hopefully some early value. Please bear in mind that Sunday markets are always fragile so prices can quickly go, especially once the soft Going watchers "wake up" later on. We have deliberately staked lower, its early NH stuff, a number of winter performers may need runs and a lot of the summer jumpers won't want rain.

We will be back tomorrow with a few tips and a review of yesterday, when once again, we delivered a modicum of each way profit hitting the crossbar again in both selected races with one in each and for those playing the suggested "odds to 6th place" a second in The Gold Cup at Ayr, where we all felt Flying Pursuit a very gallant loser, who may well have won with a high draw, as easily the best horse drawn in the lower half. Around 50% of the selections last week placed; we just need the dam to burst and they will start winning like busses I'm sure.

More tomorrow at the usual weekday time of around 8.30am
