Tuesday 21st August

There is Flat Turf action today at Brighton; Hamilton and Yarmouth, AW at Kempton; NH at Newton Abbot and an Irish Fixture.

The Cards in terms of quality and quantity and Going at Brighton and Yarmouth put us off a little; although last time out winner for us TOPMEUP may be a nice horse to include in any accumulators (runs in 7.50). At Newton Abbot, the Going is likely to be a fair bit firmer than it was last week, when we were there and had a 9/1 winner, as we have had serious rain in Devon since, so we will swerve the Card tonight, although we will discuss a horse we used to have a share of, in a brief SP2A RACING update at the bottom of this e-mail.

We will focus though on Hamilton, they stage a decent Card; Going is Good to Soft and a few competitive races to get our teeth in to. We have a tip and analysis race from Michael Gould and also a couple of Mentions, all up in Scotland at Hamilton.

Finally, a look back at yesterday and WINS for Firmdecisions and Handy Hollow; a decent enough placed effort from Queen Penn and probably a very unlucky run from Kings Coinage, who looked full of running and got no luck at Thirsk. It looks like a winner in waiting, sadly it wont be 14/1 next time though. The disappointments were Mon Beau Visage who never went a yard really and the speculative punt on Sky Of Stars was an abject failure. So another net profit on the day, a couple more winners and good performances to boost the confidence and we approach York in a far better frame of mind than we may have thought a week ago.

With David on holiday, I will assume my old ELITE SERVICE mantle for the week and although based on ELITE strategy, and sent to Elite (and Daily) subscribers, to avoid any confusion, I will brand as my Daily moniker "PLACESPOTTER" this will allow David continuity of proofing. Tips for York tomorrow, will be out at usual time around 8.30am
