Friday 22nd January

A decent enough day yesterday with DAWSON CITY advised when 18/1 battling home in a tight finish, we didn't expect that Meeting to be on to be honest, hence the lack of detailed write up and the fact we just missed the usual 8.30am deadline we set ourselves; but the logic of experience in heavy conditions proved spot on. It was well backed later in the morning as some solid money came in for it from some reputable sources.

Earlier ROCK ON AUSSIE gave us a great run for the 50/1 that was available everywhere when the mail was sent out, faded into 5th but as advised that was an enhanced place opportunity with at least 5 major Bookies. The price of that one fell sharply a few hours before Racing, similar to one we put up on Sunday (Owl Creek Bridge advised winner at 33/1), we've never moved markets and never will (Arctic Footprint 50/1 in to 25/1 on Tuesday; was within the bounds of what you'd expect for anything at 50's being moderately backed as was Tequila Blaze 18/1 > 11/1 on Wednesday), so something we'll keep an eye on but it would appear the money is just coming later in the morning for proven stamina and heavy ground form, so always try to take the price offered.

Percy Prosecco on the AW missed the break and was always playing catch up so the only real disappointment of a good day and a good week so far.

Very little of note today, nothing stands out on a Lingfield AW Card low on numbers, we don't play at the other 2 AW venues (at the moment), and that leaves MUSSELBURGH.

We looked at the 3.30 race which looks trickier than tricky and very hard to find confident value, Lucinda Russell runs a few of which Izzys Champion returns on similar mark to last years win and old Charmix would hammer these if returning to form, but we can't decide between 4 or 5 others (Fourth Of July; Book Of Invasions; Not The Chablis, Shallow Run, Graystown) and still probably not found the winner, so one to avoid.

The only suggestion from THE ADVISOR is that whilst Bullion Bess looks rock solid in the 1.20 that ESME SHELBY for McCain with Brian Hughes up, with some nice 3 mile P2P form might pop up into a place at around 15/2 and might be worth a small forecast with Bullion Bess.

Hopefully the Racing tomorrow will survive floods, ice, snow and whatever else can be thrown at it, IF he can find a suitable race David will be here with his Elite selections and we'll be back at around 9.00am with whatever we can find of value over the Jumps or on the AW.

Stay safe and may be best to sit on the weeks profit today, save for a small dabble in the 1.20 at Musselburgh if you want it.
