NO TIPS TODAY
It was frustrating to see the horse we left out of the final 5 considered in the 20 runner Handicap at Ayr (Santa Clarita) run a good 2nd place at 33/1 and a bit frustrating to see the quietly fancied Gaillimh A Star beaten on the nod to be runner up also at Ayr in yesterday's tip races.
Quite understandably there is a bit of a lull again today in potential action after a very busy week covering Christmas and New Year.
The AW at Lingfield has to pass an early inspection but offers little in the way of competitive Racing, Southwell is a venue we've rarely touched in terms of AW since going to Tapeta and the Musselburgh Jumps Card, where they also inspect in around an hours time, also offers little confident or credible value either.
On such days it is better to abstain than toy guess or offer tips for the sake of tips.
Hopefully the Cards at Sandown, Newcastle Wincanton and Cork survive in full or part tomorrow and we'll be back with tips from any that do at around 9am in the morning, we will also divert our Northern and AW Expert to look at the 2 x AW Cards tomorrow for possible tips in the vent that the Jumping is weather affected.
There are three very decent Jumps Cards too on Sunday at Chepstow (where we may need a miracle if forecasts are correct; Plumpton who stage The Sussex National and at Naas in Ireland.
We'll be back in the morning and in the meantime stay warm and safe and dry.
