Monday 21st December

A decent pair of places yesterday from Getaday at 9/1 and especially Dubai Devils at 40/1. I know from an email chat that Ian was a bit gutted to have missed the 14/1 winner, especially as it had been flagged up as a tip by one of the few Racing Post race analysts that we think is half decent. What a Tricast that might have been. However, 40/1 placed horses don't come along every day of the week, so we have to take what we can and bank it and move on.

A poor pair of AW Fixtures today that our new AW man is not interested in and a poor quality if competitive Card at Musselburgh. We looked at the "Hands and Heels" race at 1.45 but a prominent running style is best suited in that type of race and it looks likely to be dominated by the shorter priced runners although OLivers Island might be worth a small dabble of canny placepot pick. The 2.15 is a competitive Handicap Hurdle but again we can't really find much value and the rain may scupper chances of the only one we were interested in being Chosen Flame. So, having decided to leave those on the shelf , we'll focus on the 1.15 long distance Handicap Chase.
