Saturday 15th February

A 3rd place and a bit of loose change profit for the tip yesterday on an awful day of Racing.

The action today at Ascot; Haydock and Wincanton (now abandoned) is absolute top drawer, add in Gowran Park and a couple of AW Fixtures.

The fly in the ointment in a period where the relentless rain over the past 3-4 months allied to storm force winds is STORM DENNIS. Haydock have indicated the Going is OK to race but are wary of high winds later on. Ascot which is provisionally ON and hopefully Haydock will get through the Card, although you do kind of wish the big races were first on the Card!!!!!.

Even if the going is OK the issue is Rider and Horse safety and equally Spectator health and Safety as in 40+ mph winds there are a lot of potentially dangerous flying objects on racecourses such as advertising hoardings and even the wings of fences.

A lot of horses will have today as key preparation for the Spring Festivals so we may see lots of non runners too if travel is difficult in high sided vehicles and we can but hope if cancelled that Fixtures may be restaged??..

With the likliehood that Haydock is MOST LIKELY to be on (at least in part) we will go there for ELITE from David and a Daily Tip from Michael.

It's hard to see any UK Racing taking place tomorrow but IF Navan is on there will be an email around 10am (all out Sunday soccer is already OFF so a normal Sunday mailing) if Navan is OFF there won't be a mail.
