Saturday 18th January

A decent and possibly slightly unlucky run from Peejaybee into second place at Market Rasen yesterday where Awaythelad was a non-runner. No joy at Windsor and my impressions of that TRack on TV are that it doesn't really add much as a spectacle and it may become something of a Course specialists track and also suit hold up horses.

The sad fact of TV Racing and the Racing media is that 90% of the air-time and debate will be about a 4 runner race at Ascot and one horse in particular. Meanwhile in the real world there is some decent Racing at Haydock (who inspect but are confident but it is Haydock!), at Taunton who have a very decent competitive Card at at Navan, where a fair few horses who may be a bit behind with their prep will be having what may be their final pre Cheltenham prep (a few interesting handicaps in Ireland this weekend to watch some of the "also rans" in - ahem)  and in some cases Aintree and Irish National prep runs.

We will attack Handicap Hurdles at Ascot , Haydock and Navan and a Handicap Chase at Taunton with what we think are solid each way bets and a few at longer odds that really do stand close scrutiny of past form!
