Saturday 20th March

We found no less than three 50/1 placed horses at Cheltenham over the 4 days and with big priced places yesterday for Petite Mouchoir (advised 33/1) who may just have been a shade unlucky carrying top weight to come up against one who found a perfect passage off bottom weight, Edwardstone who ran a good race at 20/1 and then in the final race Whatsupwithyou (advised at 50/1) who ran on well with the other e/w picks finishing in 7th and 8th also a big odds just outside of the places.

We'll do a fully update and tally up tomorrow, a decent enough net profit, a lot of fun, some huge priced placed horses, not as many winners as we'd have liked, but when you attack only 20+ runner or big field handicaps, you know the odds are against finding 4-5 winners a day, finding short priced favourites to win some of the races there, is not the kind of tipping we set out to make our DNA, fair play to those that do, but for us it has always been against the logic of the "trades descriptions act" to call anything under 2/1 a tip, more the blindingly obvious!

It is a unique 4 days and as a result we have a few mentally exhausted Tipsters, it can takes hours each day to dissect a 20+ runner race, so despite there being a glut of Meetings and races today, we will take a pull, rest up and return to a more normal structure tomorrow.

We trust in good old fashioned hard graft form analysis on paper, assessing every horse in the race and going back painstakingly through it's form, no fancy systems or machines with pretty colours, they have their place and some are excellent ones on the market and we have tried a few, but having tried them we believe they just cloud and influence judgement and that there remains no better form analysis than that done by the human brain which has the ability to "back hunches and memories" that no machine can be developed to asses (yet at least), of course the brain, unlike a machine gets tired, and so a quieter day today.

I know that having tried to look at a race for today last night and again this morning, the brain is just not sharp enough to do it justice and Sean (Ireland); The Advisor and Robin, will have a lie in; and will be back tomorrow.

We deliberately and at David's suggestion; rested him yesterday with THE MIDLANDS NATIONAL one of his favourite races to attack today, so the 100% focus is on that today
