It's been a few winters since we have had a weather break from National Hunt, I think our longest was 2 weeks, so this should be seen as a minor blip!

No joy yesterday with a couple of speculative pokes. There is AW at Lingfield today (one race with 10 runners, the rest with single figure fields) and at Chelmsford (a venue we wouldn't touch with someone else barge pole).

So we will abstain for today.

There are 3 AW Fixtures tomorrow and in particular the ones at Newcastle and Dundalk may be of interest. We've had positive NET profit over the past 5 winters on admittedly rare forays to both, so we'll have a long hard look and try to find some value.

The Saturday NH Cards look in doubt, Warwick inspect today, Kempton looks doubtful, Fairyhouse is currently "unraceable" (I do like the Irish descriptions - in the UK it would be Good to Soft which it clearly isn't) so "Unraceable" is accurate at the moment and far more transparent I feel. The BHA have added a NH meeting at FFos Llas where they are well used to running in heavy ground and they will move races from cancelled meetings there , to make a decent Card.

Beyond Saturday, we'll hopefully see a gradual improvement.
