Tuesday 16th April

A poor start to what was a day of speculative runners at Kelso yesterday but some success in the last of the three tip races with both Singapore Trip and Dream Boy running well to place at double figure SP Odds.

We have the first day of Turf flat Racing in 2024 at Newmarket today, a Card probably best watched for Going and Draw bias pointers for the weeks ahead, the 1 mile Handicap though at 2.55 with a 17 runner field does offer up an opportunity to dip our toe into the water with some pretty solid previous seasons and early season pointers on offer. Naas stages a competitive National Hunt Card and there are a few of significant interest at both ends of the market in the Handicap Hurdle at 4.25. THere are also Jump Fixtures at Ffos LLas and AW at Newcastle. Sadly Newton Abbot is still unable to race after biblical levels of rain in the South West since the Autumn, and early news that Beverley is OFF tomorrow joining Redcar, which was called off and unable to race yesterday.
