Tuesday 5th January - No Selections Today

Good Morning;

Some positive news out of the new Lockdown, which I think most of us have been wanting for several months, is that Elite Sports can continue behind closed doors. Horse Racing has had an almost unblemished record in terms of Covid spread and thankfully, the wonderful work and attention to detail of all involved ensures for now that Racing can continue.

We had a decent but frankly frustrating day yesterday, with Episode a non-runner the tracker HEPBURN advised at 40/1 ran a cracking race to finish 3rd at an SP of 18/1, continuing the excellent analysis of the past few days in the process. The real frustration came in the other race, not in the narrow defeat of At First Glance (advised at 7/1 so a bit of e/w profit at that price) or the fall of Perfect Moment, when travelling fine in midfield, but in a 12/1 winner, with no P2P form or form at the trip, but who had been touted by some "in the know" which we didn;t immediately pick up on, as the collateral form didn't add up to the "whispers" and that knowledge can be as important as form.

To exacerbate the frustration a little too, the one suggested on the AW as being the most likely but NOT a tip, was a very unlucky runner up at the Odds of 20/1 RIVER SPRITE, with a fair bit of argy-bargy on both sides in the closing furlong. If nothing else it will hopefully have added to the confidence that the new AW Tipster has made with his start so far.

There is AW today at Lingfield and Wolverhampon, however a long look at Lingfield has found nothing with sufficient confidence including the big field race to close the Card and as we mentioned yesterday, the "power raking" at Wolverhampton is not ideal for any form analysis and the bulk of our AW tips initially, will be a Lingfield and Kempton. There is a good Card at Kempton tomorrow night, which is already being worked on so almost certainly a couple of races there will be featured tomorrow and more promise for some NH on Thursday in Scotland and Ireland and possibly even Wales.

No point in frittering away hard gained profit of the past few days, so we will be back tomorrow before 8.30am.

Stay safe, Stay Warm in the meantime.
