Friday 21st January
PLACESPOTTER - Market Rasen Handicap Hurdle - Class 4 - 2 miles 7 furlongs 16 yards - Good to Soft - 11 run
If the frost comes out of the ground quickly enough to get the meeting on its likely to be a crusty pudding like surface placing focus on stamina.
At the head of the market both Minella Buster and Le Grand Lion ran very well last time and a small reverse forecast should be a safe and secure bet option to cover those pait off at odds between 5/2 and 3/1.
If we are looking for each way value in the race Skylanna Breeze may be an option but off a break of 314 days it may be better to Track the horse as it's now back on a reasonable handicap mark (3lbs above win mark) and could pick up a small prize once some race fitness is added. Some Detail does have CD winning form but not an obvious winner of this today.
I'll have shrapnel bets on OPTIMISTIC BIAS, a 13 year old veteran but returned to form last time, blinkers are retained and 3 miles in these conditions would not be something it's not run well on before. FLORRIE KNOX needed its seasonal debut and has Course and Distance winning form at 2 and 1/2 miles off a mark of 117, it runs off 110 here and having started in the 3 mile P2P fields should be capable of getting the trip round this basically easy circuit.
Shrapnel - Florrie Knox + Optimistic Bias (reverse f/cast on Minella Buster + Le Grand Lion)
