Uttoxeter 1.30 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 7 and 1/2 furlongs - 14 run - Good to Soft > Soft

At the top end of the market here and in likely deteriorating and difficult conditions, I think that both All Under Control who has a 5lbs penalty for a Fontwell win and Twp Stori (correct spelling not sure how it's pronounced)  who is a consistent Distance winner but also penalised are opposable on value and probability of not winning here.

Hill Of Scarriff makes handicap debut for the Skelton's so has to be feared although on all visible evidence so far it has plenty to find, Just Chasing Maycomes from another prolific Yard but is also upped in trip but has course winning form over shorter and Lady Harriett comes from the always dangerous Bowen yard, a typically inconsistent bowen horse, who may just be in the grip of the handicapper too off this mark. So, plenty of real dark horse dangers are lurking!

I'm really keen though today on CLOVIS BOY who is in the TRACKER already and who was unlucky in running last time, he stayed on well and should be fully fit now on 3rd seasonal run and plenty to like last season with wins off marks of 90 and 95 that suggests today's mark of 98 is competitive. ITHAKA is a Distance winner, will be fine in the softening ground and having won off 90 a couple of runs back a mark of 95 here is not a negative when you consider it was winning off a mark of 99 in March!
