A welcome win for Hokusai in Ireland last night returning an SP of 14/1 and vindication for having the saver of one drawn low on a Track where extremes of the Draw can often occur and with a 33/1 shot finishing runner up from Stall 2, a nice "saver" from michael to have the nous to select Hokusai. Helm Rock ran well enough in defeat to suggest a win in possibly slightly easier company may not be far away.

 

There is a feast of good racing today at Ascot, Newmarket and York, with evening Flat Fixtures at Chester and Chepstow, some AW at Dundalk and a Regional National at Kilbeggan. A tough choice to whittle the options down but we've decided on a long distance Handicap at Newmarket, a medium trip Handicap at York and in preference to the Midlands National at Kilbeggan a competitive long distance Handicap Hurdle. There are also a number of bigger priced Trackers today. No 2 year old Features Today, but very much a watching brief on some likely very nice 2 year olds on display at Ascot, Newmarket and York plus at the lower grade evening Fixtures.
