Monday 2nd December

Another good winner for sEan in Ireland yesterday when History of Fashion who backed up an excellent run in the same race last year by going one better this time at an SP of 10/1, was advised at 14/1 with the price drop mainly due to a number of non runners.

Our Northern Expert had concluded that Gipsy Lee Rose would improve markedly for a recent seasonal debut off a nice handicap mark at Carlisle and although a speculative punt advised at 25/1 the winning starting price of 40/1 was probably more of a surprise than the actual win. It's always good to start a month with a big priced winner and with the frustration of so many small field races in November to contend with, great to finally get some Softer ground at Carlisle.

Sadly there are very limited options today. Ffos Llas, where it is already Heavy ground, will inspect at 7.30am with more heavy rain due and only a couple of races with double figure fields to seek some genuine each way value. Having looked at the Card both Robin and The Advisor feel that even if the meeting is on that nothing really stands out as a confident punt and the likelihood is there will be a host of non runners.

The Card at Plumpton is also moderate, we looked long and hard at a couple of races but the nearest we got was in the 1.50, but you could make pretty solid claims for more than half of the 11 runner field and there is no point guessing, so we'll sit tight on the winnings from yesterday and look again tomorrow where there are some interesting options at Clonmel and also on the AW at Lingfield and Newcastle.
