Saturday 1st February
There was a decent run by the consistent Joe Cotton who finished a runner up at Lingfield yesterday, the performances of Major Dundee and The Two Amigos though were very disappointing at the same venue and it was galling to see a TRACKER horse in Sporting Ace win their race on ground that all evidence suggested would be too heavy at the extended trip. A nice win for The Paddy Pie was not unexpected in the tip race at Catterick where the selection failed to deliver.
There are decent Cards at Sandown and Musselburgh today and we looked hard at a few races including the 3.07 at Sandown but we believe that the market leaders at both Fixtures look very strong and we can't find anything to oppose horses at 4/1 or under with the necessary degree of confidence.
We found the 25/1 winner (Maxxum) and the 11/1 runner up (a tip again today) in the big 3 mile Handicap Hurdle at Leopardstown last season at a time when our Irish Tipsters were in a sustained period of excellent form, it's been a struggle for them in the main this winter, but it would be the perfect time for them to start building momentum for the Cheltenham Festival where both excel and have done over a number of seasons. A 17 runner Handicap Hurdle at Wetherby has thrown up a few quietly confident speculative punts too for our Northern expert.
With tomorrow offering a number of decent puntin options, we'll stick with those 2 tip races for today. There are only 2 TRACKERS today, both in the big Leopardstown race and they are listed at the bottom of the e-mail
