Sunday 10th January

A decent enough run from Flowing Cadenza who was advised at 25/1 in the opening tip race at Exeter yesterday but disappointment in the big Handicap Chase.

I know Ian's view afterwards was that he'd looked to hard for bigger priced value, and whilst Dancing Shadow ran well to a point the other one Sandy Boy never travelled a yard and was very disappointing. His view was that Crossley Tender was really the obvious one whose consistency is easy to overlook as it keeps just finding a bit more when the handicapper seems to have got him, so no excuses for either tip and just frustration at looking a gift horse in the mouth and not snapping it up.

There is NH at Doncaster which is sure to proceed, at Hereford who stage an Inspection and AW at Dundalk and Wolverhampton. Some welcome rain due over the next few days, starting today which shouldn't quite reach Doncaster to affect Going, but will hopefully get into the baked frosty Going elsewhere and give us some certainty about the Going which has been a bit of a guessing game over the past 2-3 days.

We'll focus on the opener at Doncaster where there is some good market value
