Sunday 18th August

A nice win for Dare To Hope advised at 13/2 who returned at 9/2 in the big Sprint at Ripon. A decent effort by The Turpinator at 25/1 on the unfavoured far side to finish 6th, just missing the enhanced place generally available by a neck (Sky + William Hill would have paid the place).

Unfortunately no joy at Perth over the Jumps nor with the 2 year old runner at Newbury, but the Trackers, of which we haven't had too many running lately, had a decent day with 2 wins and an excellent 2nd from the 5 races where we had actual runners, with Hey Day Baby winning at 12/1, Fact Or Fable at 17/2 and Power Of Gold 2nd at 14/1. We'll continue to add quality to the Trackers and to weed out any after 2-3 runs if they don't deliver.

There are 3 meetings today, we looked at the Handicap Chase over 3 miles at Tramore but it looks like a minefield with quite a few well out of the handicap. Pontefract stages a disappointing "Premier Raceday" Card and that leaves Southwell on the AW. It's a track we've rarely ventured to since they changed the track to Tapeta, but our AW (Northern) Expert has a quietly confident fancy for a couple in the 12 furlong race at 3.55.
