Sunday 22nd September

My initial reaction to The Silver Cup and The Gold Cup races at Ayr yesterday was one of complete frustration and disappointment. Mostly in the fact that we had misread the Draw bias from Friday, also in the fact that in Lethal Levi in particular was a horse we'd tipped before, who has always run well and we left off the investment list far too easily. We discussed and have to a degree avoided Big Field Sprints this summer, especially on a weekend away from the Festivals, when we have attacked them we have had some success, most notably at York on a number of occasions, but as we transition in to Autumn, we'll again start to look at other avenues on busy race weekends.

THis morning however on looking at the actual evidence it wasn't the disaster that I'd fermented on overnight, especially The Gold Cup where Aramis Grey at 28/1 and Commanche Falls at 25/1 SP's both filled the minor and enhanced places and whilst Bergerac was very well backed in from 20/1 to 17/2 in The Silver Cup we also had Summerghand and Lucky Man finishing just at of the enhanced places. A few decent tRacker results also added to the slight lifting of the perceived gloom.

There is NH at Plumpton today, heavy rain on Good to Firm means we'll swerve  it in terms of tips and analysis but there IS a notable TRACKER Jockey angle to point out at the bottom of the message. The Flat Card at Hamilton looks very moderate and the NH Card at Listowel is hardly stacked with options, however a 2 mile 6 furlong Maiden Hurdle does give us an earlier than expected chance to look at a few long term potential TRACKERS and see if we can find some of that crazy 100/1 each way value (even to 3 places) that can crop up with a degree of regularity in this specific sector of Irish NH Racing.
