Sunday 26th January

Having started the week with a very confidently analysed 20/1 SP winner with Topkapi Star, I think it's fair to say we haven't had the best of luck since with some decent placed efforts a few of which were unlucky. A decent third place run by Baldur Gate at 10/1 at Fairyhouse was a decent effort and an enhanced 4th from Twyfords Diamond was fair enough at Uttoxeter, both the selections at Cheltenham ran below expectation too.

To lose any horse on the Track is devastating for all concerned, especially the Owners and Training Yard, I think when you are invested in it, it feels worse as there is some kind of moral / ethical responsibility guilt involved. Our commiserations therefore to all connected with Forward Plan are genuine and heartfelt. The 3rd place run from Snipe, the two  non runners and the frustrating fact that the one we clearly identified as the main danger (who would have been a tip had we known we were going to have 2 non runners) won at 9/1 frankly on the day, seems less important.

There are 3 Fixtures today at Fontwell and Sedgefield with largely single figure fields and at Naas in Ireland. In those races with competitive fields the top 3-4 in the respective races all look very solid BUT there is always each way value to find. With a very strong recommendation though that you reduce Stakes and on an otherwise quiet day, we will put a few up that warrant a small investment and with sufficient quiet confidence to send them out form us.
