Thursday 12th September
It's the case unfortunately that when you get the draw bias wrong in any Sprint race it's very difficult to find the winner / placed horses and for whatever reason, the usual draw bias at Carlisle yesterday when "soft" is in the Going description, was turned on its head. No excuses, we got it wrong on this occasion after a spell where more often than not we have got it spot on.
No joy at Worcester with a couple of pokes from Robin, early pace did for Presenting Nelly, who went out too quickly for comfort suggesting something was not quite right, and Indian Sunbird was given too much to do in a race where the winner enjoyed the luck of a glaring error with the leader eased down 100 yards too soon.
The highlight today is a good Card at Doncaster, Carolyn did look at what looks very much like an above average 2 year old Nursery race, it does look very competitive though and we feel there are better 2 year old race options on Friday and Saturday and the benefit of watching and assessing conditions and draw bias today will stand us in good stead. We will attack a 12 furlong race on the Round Course there with a couple of quietly confident picks. There is also an Epsom Card a bit low on numbers and AW at Newcastle, where we will again seek value and net profit in a 14 runner (max field) handicap over the Straight Mile.
