Thursday 19th September

A nice win from the confidently tipped Sound Angela at 17/2 SP yesterday after he had been advised at 12/1, an added bit of icing on that cake with Molten Rock advised at 25/1 coming home a fairly widely enhanced place 4th at 50/1 SP. It's nice to have the option of looking at non handicaps occasionally now that we have RJ, especially when you can find the ones that do offer a place enhancement. We hit the crossbar at Beverley with Clotherhome and Coloane coming home 4th and enhanced 5th with Filey Beach also placing at 18/1 and at Tramore, Greenway Machine was a runner up at 10/1 with Ocodango Boy finishing an enhanced although slightly disappointing 4th. Overall not a bad day at all.

There is Day 1 of three excellent days at Ayr today and we'll attack 2 races there,a tip too at Pontefract. We had planned to look at a 1 mile handicap at Yarmouth but with 4 of the original field of 14 already declared non runners (2 of them this morning) and only 10 now going to post and possibly more to come out, we'll give that race a swerve. I suspect the high North Easterly winds have meant that watering just can't keep the ground on the safe side of Firm for some Trainers. Naas stages an exclusive " 2 year olds only" Card and as is the norm, there really isn't anything at Chelmsford to interest us.
