Thursday 23rd January

We never bemoan bad luck here at SP2A because as long term Members will know very well our philosophy has always been one of "what goes around comes around" and over a period of time it's usually the case that you can "contra off" a lucky winner with an unlucky loser. That being the case over many years, I think we can mark the runs of both My Friend Yeates and Final Edgar at Catterick yesterday as being on the debit side and owing us a bit of lucky credit some time soon.

The big Meeting today is at Gowran Park where the Thyestes Chase and a very competitive long distance Handicap Hurdle take centre stage. We did look long and hard at the 2.05 at Wetherby (where Lone Star came close to a tip) but decided that the other race that we really want to attack is an Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon.
